I'm twenty years in to my devotion to that most sacred of beverages, coffee. I try to have two or three cups every morning and will frequently have decaf in the afternoon. I don't do coffee drinks and rarely ever add anything to my coffee. So, how many other devoted drinkers do we have? Any favorite online roasters we should know about? Favorite blends or preferred single origin?

I'm a fan of our local roaster's french roast. Since I've been getting up before 4:00 AM for about 20 years now, I've become an addict. You can order online from O'Neill Coffee.

Whatever is on sale, and lots of it.
As black as death. Unadulterated by sweeteners or other silly additives. Hot. Face scalding hot.

Just about anything works for me as long as it is unflavored, strong, black and has a caffeine jolt.
Another vote for Via on the trail

Jim, I think you know feelings on coffee. Before I was roasting my own I would buy from blacksmithcoffee.com and muddydogcoffee.com/coffees. I'm currently on a Kenya Kiamabara Kii Peaberry kick. Each roast is different no matter how I dial it in. It's loaded with grapefruit and fresh orange, a cane sugar syrup sweetness, and floral citrus. It's "Kenya" coffee. Next month will be something new I'm sure. But for now.......... Side note: Not to hot. 93* - 95* is what it should be. And that's how I like it. French press is different. Heavier grind and a little hotter. But I digress.

When I took my sons to Santiago Atitlan, in Guatemala to do a volunteer house building and work in a Mayan school, the cabin we stated at was owned by a man with his own coffee and roasting it as we were there was the most amazing smell, and taste. I love dark, Guatemalan coffee but usually drink French roast, brewed strong. I hate the environmental impact of the k cups, so don't use one

Being a proper southern gentleman, it's Community Coffee or nothing. I prefer the dark roast. Strong, with no additives.

For those from southern Louisiana, this could rekindle the eternal debate of Community versus Mellow Joy.

Black and hot unless it's over ice (try it!). I also like it fairly strong and am partial to French Roast. By the measure on the coffee pot I'm good for between 8-10 cups a day unless I'm backpacking. Then I will usually have 2 cups in the morning and usually one after dinner. I have a little one cup percolator I use when backpacking. It's my luxury item - instant just doesn't cut it. I got it years ago from a great-uncle when we closed up his house. circa 1913. . Still works great!
