I found out that my shoes and socks were 1-1.5 sizes too small Just a growing boy.

My new one is the Skimmer 30 -- but I ditched the bladder that came with it. I use one of my Camelbak bladders with it.

capilene thermal weight hoody That sounds like BigLoad 's favorite shirt. Do you mean my orange one? That's a little heavier (R1 fleece). Despite its hideous color, it's incredibly versatile. I have a puke green wool one, too, which is another of my favorites. You've probably seen both of them.

but I guess I'll find something. Socks, one can never have too many socks. Problem solved: wife needs new hiking shoes.

Get the REI card. Use it to pay for day to day expenses, pay it off in full each month and you will probably have enough for new shoes next year. Had one. REI doesn't really cater to me anymore. None of my big 3 gear comes from a large manufacturer, and most smaller stuff can be found cheaper.

Do you mean my orange one? Yes, I was thinking about the orange one. I have considered one... not orange though.

Picked up three REI brand shirts on clearance at a crazy markdown, one at more than 50% off.
My REI credit card gets used a lot as I don't have any other cards that offer points or discounts.

New boots, a half size larger than what I currently have. Been a week and my toe nails are still killing me!
Or a new 3 person tent (damn dog is big enough to be a person now)
Or a Jetboil
Or socks...I have a thing for socks. But I get all the ugly ones one sale.

With my dividend & coupon I plan to get the Petzel MYO headlamp. It is rated at 370 lumens. That would be great for reading in my tent at night 9 or in bed at home). I already have a couple of 200 lumen headlamps but when I used to read in bed using them, I was straining my eyes too much.

None of my big 3 gear comes from a large manufacturer, and most smaller stuff can be found cheaper. I find this to be true, too. I used to go to the REI in Denver ~30 years ago when it was in a re-purposed Safeway. Now they seem to gravitate towards more high-end properties and they don't seem as value priced as before. Have to pay for the expensive digs somehow, I guess.

Haven't shopped at REI for years. I found I can usually get the same item for less by comparison shopping on line.

Can't even get a Mountain House for $4.95. Get the REI card. Use it to pay for day to day expenses, pay it off in full each month and you will probably have enough for new shoes next year. Ah, that makes more sense. I never pay full price at REI, so I thought everyone with big dividends was just really bad a bargain shopping! Totally forgot about the credit card! I just switched from an airline credit card to a hotel group credit card instead...I will need hotel points for my big road trip later this year My REI dividend was $5. Says I spent about $700 last year at REI, although for the life of me I can't tell you what I spent it on. Patagucci threads, I guess!

Well, REI didn't have freeze-dried whirled peas, so I compromised and got a Nemo Dagger 2P Tent for my wife and I to replace our heavier MSR Hubba Hubba. It's still green, light, and has a "P" in its name. $289 with Dividend and 20% off:
