This year has been the year of strew ones gear all over the pace. We get that now and then. They even recognized that some people are intimidated by locker rooms and added lockers in public space, but some people just insist on creating little minefields.

I consider my hike up to Tablerock as part of my gym workouts.
Dang-it, this is my drink and snack I lugged up there. 'You' made your choice to not carry a drink or something to eat, so do not ask me to share mine. But, grumble, grumble, i am a nice guy and can see your out of sorts and need a drink, of my coco water, so I share. Each glug, to me, is a loss of my precious liquid nectar. Egqds the container feels so much lighter and 'your' thanks seem hollow and I think 'open up that wallet.'

I don't share such on day hikes, unless I think the person is in real danger. A polite "No. I prefer not to share my only sustenance." usually works. I mean, how do they even begin to think about asking for a swallow of fluid, if they brought none?

I'm with Zeke--who would even ask someone (unless they were hiking with you) to share their drink? Though since I just carry plain tap water, if I felt I had enough, I'd pour some in their water bottle. If they had no water bottle, I'd read 'em the riot act.

There actually is good science behind chains. For some exercises. Depends upon the force/contraction curve for each muscle, keeps the muscle loading constant through the movement. This is super important for the average individual, not because of any significant increase in performance or efficiency, but because it strokes their ego.

You can use elastic bands instead of chains. A lot easier to carry and set up. Does not stroke your ego as much, though. The chains look and sound cool.

That machine was brand new nine days ago. How could it be broken already? I think somebody has been dropping the weights.

I mean, how do they even begin to think about asking for a swallow of fluid, if they brought none? While I don't have much room experience wise to talk, I've ran into just this very thing before. Some people go out expecting a casual stroll which turns into "Oh god, why did I think this was a good idea" type of scenario. I ran into a couple on a 5 mile trail, who had obvious not done their homework. They had -nothing- on them. Their reasoning was, since the average human being travels at 3 mph, they should've been done in 1.5 hrs. Between them, they had 2 small bottles of water. Which were empty. It was 85 degrees. I carry enough water to last a day without having to refill, but I also carry water purification tablets just in case. I gave them one of my canteens, I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson, and I ended up drawing from a lake and purifying it. It felt nice being able to help, too. Of course, I had water in spades. If you're running short yourself, then maybe it isn't such a good idea to willy nilly be giving it to people.

Gym Etiquette Rant: Small town with a large with a well funded family Y: letting loose to many middle schooler's with no idea on how to clean and pick up after themselves. The locker rooms are shared spaces from 10-100. That said though we do have a extraordinary number of polite and respect kids I meet day in our community and the locker room. We just have too many so-so parents guiding these kids, and I blame us baby-boomers for crafting them. And the young trainers in my 5:00 am spinning class can quit dissing us young and old for being somewhat humorless Hey we are there and I am sorry there is not a pay differential for cow milking hours.

I personally don't like people asking me how many sets I have next while I'm lifting. I have 185 pounds over my face... please don't ask me questions... wait till I'm done like I did with the person who was on it before me...

When someone comes directly from the pool or shower without drying off and leaves a 2-foot wide puddle in front of my locker. I love that.

Well it is that time of the year again. The Resolutionist have invaded the gym.
So guy who walks around on the indoor track. Yea that guy. Don't stop and ask me how my workout is going when I am walking on the treadmill trying to beat my best time to 700 calories (54:10).
Oi! When you see the new equipment, write the name of the equipment down, SkiErg, and go find a few Youtube videos to watch on how to use the dang thing. Just standing there pulling on the ropes with 1 set as the resistance value is not going to get you cht. And for fracks sake! Don't, and I really mean don't, ask me how to use the SkiErg, when I am on minute 22 of a 30 minute session with that self torture device.

selfies in the locker room? Are you kidding me? And to add my SHOCK to the above home estion, do people really take "naked selfies" in locker rooms? I mean what you do in your home is your business, but a locker room, come on.
