Will you all shun me if I partake in this thread with a gravel bike?

That works! Anything with drop bars is road worthy.
The picture looks great! So does the bike.

Sadly, my second ride on it (I think it was January) I followed my husband somewhere I shouldn't have and got two flat tires. I just fixed them last month, so I need to start riding again! Especially now that I have thrown myself into the world of Triathlon. I still don't know what I was thinking.....

I'll get a flat during the bicycle part of my race. I usually carry a spare tube and a cupla tools. It's a lot quicker than repairing.

I definitely plan to carry a tube with me. I have the tire irons and I picked up a hand pump last week.
Turns out, my husband already has a nice mountable kit in mind for me. lol I need a rear bag for under the seat and my bike only has one spot for a mountable bottle cage. The kit he has in mind is part of a bottle cage, so that works out well.

Will you all shun me if I partake in this thread with a gravel bike? I'm I wrong for mentally imagining the scene from "The Office" where Dwight is shunning Jim, but has to "unshun" to talk to him?

And knowing me, I'll get a flat during the bicycle part of my race. lol You have to do it right. I flatted on our Century, but I did it right by a rest stop, and each rest stop had a mechanic on duty. He changed it for me, and even provided a tube! But of course I wasn't being timed, since it wasn't a race

I couldn't possibly get that lucky. lol Yeah, that was pretty nice, and I don't think most rides have that kind of service laid on! The flat before that, on a training ride a week or so before, I got lucky, too: a bunch of Silicon-Valley types came by and offered to change it. I'm perfectly capable of doing so, but getting the tire on and off hurts my hands--I'm getting arthritis there--so I swallowed my pride and let them. Ironically, I flatted just as I was stopping to help a couple of young women who seemed to be having trouble fixing a flat of their own!

My usual rant...
A bit windy and cool this morning so I bundled up for my ride -- an out and back. It really was a wonderful bluebird day with the sun and flowers. I sweated in the sunny spots where I was wind sheltered and froze in the shady windy spots. The wind was in my face on the way out. I keep telling myself that's OK, it will be at my back on the return. Wrong! It switched and I rode into the wind both ways. I rode a section of highway I had not ridden before. It is narrow and curvy rolling terrain. No shoulders or bike lanes. So every time I heard a car coming up behind I hugged the edge as best I could. Damn electric cars with fuel efficient tires! Cannot hear them coming up behind you. No engine noise and no tire noise.
Still, any ride is better than sitting at home. I got back just as my wife was fixing lunch, with homemade apple-berry pie. Well, anyway, I burned off those pie calories before I ate them.
