#teamLanceMiller update 11/26/2015 Today Lance Called to Say "Happy Birthday, Greg!" And he was in Brett's Truck on their way to Mom's assisted Living Center to eat Thanksgiving Lunch with her. He is still in the Rehab hospital, the staff infection in his lungs is gone, the gall bladder cured the need for the drain in his abdomen, but he still can't eat much beyond ice cream and he still needs a catheter, so he still has an appointment for micro-biotic robot cameras to scan his abdomen in the end of December. He can walk, but has no stamina so needs a wheelchair when Brett takes him out. Three months now has been a huge financial drain on Brett's family. He'd be able to take mom out too, if he had a wheelchair Van, but of course that would be another big financial hit, so probably won't happen. Anyway, Lance sounded excited to be out, happy to talk and more energetic than I've heard in ages. Thankful he is my brother and has so many who care about him!

It has been a long time since I mentioned what was going on with my brother to those of you here.
Lance has never gotten completely well. He has gone home to where he lives with our brother and his family, but has been in and out of ICU several times between September and now. He is on a feeding tube and has a catheter because he can't eat any solids without getting violently ill. He has been at a couple different hospitals including the experimental micro-robotics abdominal scan at the university of Virginia's infectious disease department. He has had his gallbladder removed, and his bladder and kidneys operated on.
Today this is the news
#TeamLanceMiller update 3/7/2016
Lance's spirits are good, but he is really, really sick. He has been moved to the University of Virginia Hospital and our brother, Brett had a good visit with two of the Doctors on Lance's team and they have not painted a good picture. On one hand the news is grim, but on the other, at least now they know where the problem is so they know where to start fighting it. "he has another infection in his abdomen. it is not in a location that a drain can be placed and it is not decreasing with all the antibiotics. Surgery is a possibility but the infection is in a dangerous location behind organs, they said, they are not going to sugar coat it. That he is very sick and in between a rock and a hard place." So, no, there will be no quick fix and things are still frightening, but no one has given up yet. Prayers and get well cards still requested.

Brett says Lance just now got out of surgery, they put in a drain directly in his kidney to give his ureter a break and allow it to heal and he seems to be doing really well but he is in ICU.

Sure hope this one does the job. This all sucks big time. But Lance is a fighter, so we will hope for the best.

One of lance's classmates found out her good friend worked at the hospital where Lance is. So the friend of a friend, dropped in and became a new friend who sent me this picture. I don't know if I love that he is smiling or want to cry over how much he seems aged by this fight. I know he has been desperately ill, but at the same time, from so far away, I still picture him as young and healthy.

Any update, Echo, on how Lance is doing? It is heartbreaking to see his bravely smiling face, despite all he has been through. Many prayers!

My friend from High school in Cody Wyoming, now lives very close to where Lance is in rehab. She went to visit and we did some video chatting. Then my other brother posted a bunch of cards and photographs by his bed and he named everyone e in them, and all the birthdays he knows in all twelve month. He is still not eating except ensure type shakes but he swears he is going home Wednesday. His graduating class in Cody was 1996 and he has gotten a lot of letters and pictures inviting him to a July third reunion in Wyoming. I hope he can be strong enough by then.
