Alright, I resisted the urge earlier, but it's Michael Hedges time. I was lucky to see him a few times before he died. The first time was probably in the mid-80s.
Unless you're a true Hedges fan, fast forward past the stories, jokes, etc., to 2:50. If you just want the top 10% fast forward to 5:45. (Whoa! Where'd that Deep Purple come from?)

Someday I need to hang out with buddero/calidream as well. It's big world, even though it's small. Places, people, ideas, music...

Thanks for that clip, 1camper. I'll have to share it with Mrs. Driftwoody. Robert Cray is her favorite recording artist, and we've seen him live at least 8 times over the last 20+ years. I'm pretty sure we also saw Hiatt at Ravinia backing up the Neville Brothers several years ago. Ravinia is a large outdoor venue in northern Chicagoland. It's like a big picnic grove with trees and speakers all over. There's a stage with seating in front but having a sightline to the artist isn't the highest priority, especially for people who bring elaborate meals complete with wine and portable tables carted on a small wagon.
Back in the 80's my friends and I saw many blues artists in the clubs on the near north side. I've also been to the famous Checkerboard Lounge on the south side. I grew up near Midway Airport on the southwest side. Also saw quite a few classic rock acts beginning in 1973, often at the old Amphitheater. Tickets for big acts in big venues were $7.50 back then, as I recall.

Some of to best shows I've seen were $10 or less.. now you can't get a beer for that at some shows. My son and I went to see Dylan this summer when he came to Richmond, tickets were around $80 for not very good seats.
Hiatt is touring now with bluesman Taj Mahal. I'd like to see him but the closest he gets to me is Pittsburgh, about 8 hrs away.

Hiatt is touring now with bluesman Taj Mahal. I saw Taj in a triple show, along with Al Di Meola and Renaissance. Quite the strange lineup.

When I was in Jr High/High School, I was in a "garage band" outside of Chicago, that played at a lot of local schools' "sockhops". But then a new group suddenly showed up, and stole all our gigs. We had to to check them out, at the closet HS. They were what became "Styx".

Wu Tang, George Jones and Pink Floyd pretty much runs the gambet. It's a bit bipolar, but it's freaking awesome!!! It only took about fifty tries to respond to this, but it has finally worked. I think.
