I heard this for the 1st time on Deep Tracks on Sirius XM. I am blown away. Have you heard Black Queen by Steven Stills?

I'll try it after the Kansas City Royals game is over.
The Royals won and the song is a winner too.

A sample in a hip-hop song reminded me of one of the best albums of 1993. Many heard the title track, but don't know how solid the album is from beginning to end.

I'd heard about Carly Simon's concert at Grand Central Station in 1995 but had never seen/heard any videos/recordings. They were re-released recently. This song in particular made me wish I'd had a chance to see her perform live.

This song in particular made me wish I'd had a chance to see her perform live. Only saw Carly once, maybe about 1972 or 1973, not sure. She has a clear voice; all the lyrics are distinct. Rumi

I'm going outside the box tonight, just like the producers of this fine interpretation by Waylon Jennings of a Billy Joe Shaver tune. What stands out to me as unusual is that it prominently features both dobro and pedal steel, actually trading licks in the two instrumental breaks at 1:09 and 2:05. It's unconventional, but effective.

A place I want to go but as yet I have not been is the Faroe Islands. Eivør Pálsdóttir is a singer-songwriter from the Faroe Islands. She composes and sings in a few different languages including her native Faroese. Here she performs her song Trøllabundin.

More Viking kinda stuff with Wardruna, a traditional group from Norway headed by Einar Selvik. We saw them in Seattle last year. This is their most noted song which was used in the series The Vikings. It is essentially a funeral song. Anyway, Aurora, a Norwegian pop singer is a guest on this song.

I'll see your baritone sax and raise you both a hooten and a haller. Need to play this loud or not at all.
And she's not afraid to move up to a bass sax, as she demonstrated when I saw them a few years ago in Louisiana.

I'll see that bet and raise you a two sax Super Sex with Mark Sandman on two sting slide bass.
Bonus Radar ....
Then I'll throw in a Dana Colley on triangle, just to tickle yer fancy. It's a sad song, matter of fact The Saddest Song
Personal Note: Mark Sandman was born about two weeks before me in 1952 andd because of that I have even more to identify with him. Sadly he died on stage in 1999 with his group Morphine. He had a special and rather unique take on music, something I really really identify with. Hope you enjoy. I really enjoyed being introduced to The Hooten Hallers. Thanks
