Treebeard, your first photo looks like a Datura (Angel's Trumpet) flower. Was it growing wild? I always thought they were cultivated flowers only. The flowers from that plant are beautiful.
Reuben, that's a stunning close-up photo of a peony; you've captured so much softness in the petals as well as the subtle color changes.

Treebeard, your first photo looks like a Datura (Angel's Trumpet) flower. Was it growing wild? I always thought they were cultivated flowers only. The flowers from that plant are beautiful. The Sacred Datura is found all over the Southwest usually in disturbance areas like washes or road sides.
