And more spring flowers. I realize these could all be in the National parks part, too. Desert Primrose at Kelso Dunes, East Mojave National Preserve

Hi again Autumnist! I am not too closely familiar with all the types of bluebells, but might of course be, that here on the old continent we are living with a completely different variation of the flower, or then not Those pears indeed are commercially farmed. There are some huge orchards here, close to where I live, in the polders. It is flat and very fertile grounds. Indeed it seems to be a handy method of growing them like that! Easier for the fruit picking too, once the time comes. The windmills are indeed in the Dutch coast. The seabed is very level and not too deep, so they do stand in water. There are no major harbors close by, so they do not disturb anything. We have them here in Belgium too, even further out in the sea, close to the French border. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the pictures!

I shot this one in Pinnacles NP back in April. I'm not sure what it is, other than gorgeous.

rebeccad Looks like a Calochortus venustus based on what I looked for through Google images. Couldn't find a common name. It's very beautiful!

Good catch. It is Calochortus venustus, common name Butterfly Mariposa Lily, which is pretty silly since mariposa means butterfly! I think most people who talk about them just call them a Mariposa Lily. Calochortus means beautiful grass!

Mariposa lily. I should have known that. But I'm used to seeing those small and more alpine--these were so extravagant!
