Looks like a great time, love the photos. I was actually right nearby at the time, backpacking in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Maybe I'll find a way to join you next year.

This year, like most years, we had two different hikes on Saturday. One group took off early to bag a peak. This time they had a 13,600 ft mountain to themselves as the crowds made their way up 14,065 Mount Bierstadt that is off the same trailhead. They said the lack of crowds made it an easy decision to skip the 14er. RebeccaD was in that group. I joined the more leisuraly walk through Caribou Ranch Open Space. As swimswithtrout said, it was much like a 4 mile campfire chat. Very pretty scenery and great company. The red building is an Artist in Residence facility that people can appy to use. The only fee is a donation of a piece of their artwork to the city of Boulder. Also, as is typical, some stay around camp just enjoying the quiet and relaxing. Often locals, that are not able to join the entire weekend, stop by for a visit in the afternoon. As evening gets closer the kitchen area becomes the hub of activity while dinner is prepared. Saturday night more visiting around the campfire and yes, some years an excessive amount of adult beverage has been consumed. But, not this year. The liquor table was pretty bare and most of that was not consumed. This year high winds on Saturday night knocked down the kitchen cover and several were up, in the middle of the night, to get things in order again. The wind continued which resulted in the packup and departure being a bit more hurried than usual. But, we still had the final good-bye circle in the parking lot with hugs and handshakes all around. Looking forward to another Pickle Gulch weekend in 2017.

Oh yes, the group can be very serious about their coffee.
See that green tote on the ground behind the stoves? That has two big tarps and rope for a rain shelter, if needed. It lives at my house in the "Pickle Gulch" corner of the gear room.

Nice autumn colors and clear blue skies! The only weather "issue" we had was that high wind. Otherwise it was wonderful. Our southern friends were a bit cold, but that is to be expected since they traveled from 90+ degree weather with high humidity.

We so appreciated y'all having us in your camp and kudos again to the camp cooks that kept us well fed. It was a fun couple of days meeting up with you guys and listening to some good stories of previous hikes and adventures. I really like the pickle gulch area and hope to return for more exploration.
This is my first day back to work after a 17 day vacation and we just got in last night. I have stories and photos to share after I get somewhat caught up. We survived the Teton Crest Trail hike but with 9" of snow on our first night out it made things a bit more difficult than we expected. I'll put a trip report together once I get photos downloaded.
By the way, we owe someone a pack of seattle's best coffee. Jen thought it was ours and packed it with our filter. btw, that's good coffee.

Sorta fair...we drank most of your coffee Trivia note: Seattle's Best began as a small roastery on my home Island (Vashon). The roaster was about a mile from our house, and when the wind was right... (If you lived much closer, it could be pretty overwhelming, though).
