Several years ago I started a thread that got way of hand so some rules before we reincarnate the fun game here. Some of you might be familiar with the "Guess the Spot" thread on another site and the game here will essentially follow the rules there that are accepted whether stated or not. Because of how many folks clogged the threads here before posting multiple UNRELATED "new" images without answering extant questions we will have a few STRICT rules. Failure to follow these rules to the letter will result in 2 dimensional discipline followed by the forced feeding of an entire case of un-boiled Top Ramen from 1974 stored in a Costa Rican root cellar overrun by imported raccoons and hallucinating hipsters from Colorado's Front Range that may or may not be incontinent.
So, the rules:
1) There will be no posting of photos by anyone that is not the first person to correctly answer the proverbially "exact" location of where the photo was taken FROM and the highlights of what is in the frame of the photo. You do not have to give coordinates but things like trail name, summit name, lake name, approximate location on trail, ridgeline, valley, etc. is crucial .
2) Assuming you are correct and posting a new photo could result in public rebuke if not discipline and of course likely anatomical agony if you are too vague or incorrect in your answer. Waiting for confirmation from the poster of the photo is of course wise unless you are not concerned with likely painful and gigantic gastronomic distress.
3) Photo Posters should answer any questions to help the community zero in on the photo location. When someone makes a decent guess giving directions like "about 40 miles southwest of there" or "you are so close" is good decorum. If people are making multiple guesses in the wrong state, range, etc. the original poster should follow with something like "Not in New Jersey," etc.
4) Photo Posters can post additional photo hints. Others that know the answer but want others to have success can post additional photo hints if they are certain of the primary photo location, etc. Please don't go overboard and the already stated consequences of posting incorrect information will be applied.
5) Photos should have broadly recognizable landmarks, a photo of something like just a tree and stream side essentially none of us can identify may be disqualified and merit disciplinary consequence.
6) We want the game to be fun and move along. So if no correct answer is forthcoming after a day or two the poster of the photograph should answer their own question and then either post a new photo or let the person that gave the closest answer license to post a new photo. If you are going to be absent from the forum for some time answer your own question and the posting of the next photo will be done by the first person to be here after your admission.
7) All photos should be taken by the poster or at least shot by an agreeable friend in the party the poster was a part of. If you are found to post a photo where you were not at at the time of the photo being taken you will be required to find your closest patch of briars and jump in with nothing on but a wrestling leotard.
8) Rules are subject to modification and expansion given group consensus.
9) Don't post photos identifying people that you do not have tacit approval from.
10) Posting anything threatening National or Global security could produce consequences beyond the control of anyone in the group. Don't do it. I am not responsible for you angering anyone and the consequnces they may impose upon you.

So here is the first photo for all you hiking humans. Where am I and what mountain range are we looking at?
