Yeah, ICE is a good thing. I try to remember to wear my RoadID when I'm hiking or cycling. Name, brief address, blood type (O+), allergies (sulfa), two emergency contact phone numbers. I use the nylon band RoadID. I have one in english, one in spanish.
This is an example of the older style which I used to have, and I eventually "upgraded" to a newer style, but you get the idea.

This is not a bad idea. When Dave was killed, it took police about 2 hours to use various systems and come up with a contact/address for him. And the name they got was our younger son, adding a layer of pain and confusion. Yeah, that's awful. Of course, it was still going to be awful in any event regardless, but, you know. FWIW, on an iPhone, you can designate one or more of your contacts as emergency contacts through the "health" app. It allows you to designate certain personal/medical information to be accessible (withoiut the passcode to your phone) from the "emergency" button on your lock screen, and gives call links to any contacts that you designate as emergency contacts. I'm sure Androids probably have a similar feature.

They finally started allowing girls to wear jeans or slacks the year after I got out of high school. I remember the year I turned 16 they upped the minimum age for getting into an "R" rated movie from 16 to 18. And, not long after that they upped the legal drinking from 18 to 21.

Going with the thread drift, I don't know any phone numbers by heart anymore. Without my phone's contact list, I have no clue.
Used to carry a paper copy of critical phone numbers in my wallet but haven't updated it in quite a while.

About emergency phone numbers, I have my sister programmed into my cell phone as AA ICE Sister so she is first alphabetically on my contacts AA, ICE is recognized as meaning In Case of Emergency, and the relationship. I also have the runner’s I’d dog tag shown above, and she is listed as ICE sister and her phone number.

I don't recognise most of those modern gadgets. life was much simpler when I was growing up, then someone invented the wireless and everything changed.

All but 13. I don't remember foil wrapping on Ding Dongs. Were they regional or nationally distributed?

The fact that this boggles my mind probably means that I'm officially, or at least unofficially, old. Tesla is recalling (really, issuing a software update) about 2.2 million cars because some of its fonts are too small. Not because of leaky transmissions, failing brakes, or potential electrical fires, or even exploding air bags, but because of font size. www.cars.com/articles/tesla-recalls-2-million-vehicles-for-dashboard-font-size-477733/

They would have just sent everyone who owns a Tesla a pair of "readers."
