September 17-19, 2021, right? Yes. Just want to make sure I've got it right. You have "September 18 - 19" in a post above. Do we have the campsite for Friday and Saturday night (which are Sept 17 and 18, respectively)? |

My boys both flew in to SF for the weekend with me. I think precautions are getting sparser so we’re leaning hard on the vaccines.

I will report the experience to her. Flew Nashville to Las Vegas and back earlier this month (family trip to Utah.) Masks required in the airports and on flights. Frontier temp checked each person at the gate. Similar on my work trip in January, though I can't remember if Delta did temp checks (I've slept since then, ha.) |

We just flew to Phoenix to visit our daughter. Both our sons were there as well, so it was the whole family together for the first time in a long time.
Masks were required in the airports and on the flight. There were a lot mask-holes not wearing them over their noses. We were a little disappointed that there wasn't more enforcement of this. I know that not everyone agrees, but I think 90+% of people who do this do it intentionally. I can't help but conclude that they probably thumb their noses at good covid/public health practices in other ways, too. So I try to stay as far away from them as possible.

I am determined to make it to Pickle Gulch one of these years, hopefully soon. Unfortunately, this won't be the year. I will be out on my annual clergy backpacking retreat, ironically right up the road from y'all in the Indian Peaks. Y'all have a great time, and I will continue to look forward to meeting you in person one day.

How many fires around or close to Pickle Gulch? I saw this morning that there were 8 or 9 fires in Colorado, though the largest is less than 1000 acres at this point.
Just wondering.

Pickle Gulch is just west of Highway 119 and a few miles north of the town of Black Hawk. There's probably a wildfire map online. If you are concerned about the smoke, that has been a bit challenging all summer. but it is primarily from CA and other states west of us. |
