Kinda sad, wiring up the monument. There are days I miss Arizona but am happy I settled in the least populous state in the Union. I am exceptionally proud of the folks that made the Arizona Trail one of the National Scenic Trails. It has come along way. Two of my middle school teachers nearly lost their jobs over being leaders in the Arizona Chapter of the Sierra Club (early 70's). I will love following Westy's take on the trail. I did really appreciate over the years desert dweller section hikes stories, especially trying to find the damn thing in the early years.

Tucson broke its record snowfall ever at 1.9 inches. Here is proof positive of the snow day in Tucson. This was taped on 22 February on the UofA campus.

I saw rain forecast for the Gailuros, so I guess maybe snow up high. You should have ample water moving north.
I stopped in Oracle many years ago after a night at Catalina state park. Found a really good breakfast at a place that had once been a service station. Saw the most beautiful women I had ever seen there. Makes me think of Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend”.

Following storm closely. Holed up in motel binge watching Showtime. Have permit for Grass Shack on Thursday night. Weather outlook sunny with higher temperatures going forward. Will be with a small group of four. Hopefully we can work as a team breaking trail. Stay tuned and thanks.

Good news is that you should have water for the dry stretch north of the Catalinas and through the Superstition Wilderness.

Keep it up Westy on the scene along the AZT. Lots of young hikers whizzing by, many are underfunded, many are trail angel dependent for every need. That is just a bizarre attitude and approach. Right now thru-hiking is going through an almost Neverland surge of interest that is just as scary as the baby-boomer alt-culture 'back to the dawn. in the early seventies that severely damaged wilderness lands like the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness in AZ. There are a number of high profile social media and Y-Tube stars out on the AZT this year. DISCLAMER; yeah I was one of those one of those wannabe hippies polluting the water holes and frequenting the makeshift wikiups as sweat lodges. Ugh. My hope is this surge does not spill over onto the trails that are not in the NST or NRT system.

What’s up with the link to the Porsche porn at the bottom of the last set of pictures?

What’s up with the link to the Porsche porn at the bottom of the last set of pictures? It’s kind of a random thing from ImageBB (what you get when you click the “Add image to post” button). If the poster is attentive they can remove it before posting. If not, I try to remove them when I spot them. Thanks for noticing this one—I took it out. The links, BTW, do seem to be benign. But they are still ads. I suspect it’s how ImageBB is able to host the images for free, of course.

If you get a chance to check out the Thompson Arboretum, it's worth the side trip.

Totaled the Porsch. Back on foot this morning. Next stop Superior. Lol. Me too. I know Superior from a few Aravaipa trips. Seem to remember one place to eat. I think it has more options now. Does the trail take you thru White Canyon??
