Wonderstump Road I loaded a picture of our road, into whiteboard and traced the details with markers, to get the upper left image, then ran that image through some landscape filters on photo lab then I did similar to a picture of a rainbow over my house Not really art but playing around on a rainy weekend.

Fun stuff, Echo! I have hauled out my watercolors, but so far am mainly just doing moods—swashes of colors, nothing meant to share.

I have hauled out my watercolors... me too. We were up out of Bishop, half way through a two week trip... fishing the "Bears" for Goldens. We came over the pass, and looked out to where our off-trail route led next. Somewhere over there was Granite Park.

Another fan of this. The pastels are so uplifting when everything here is greys and dark.

In the interests of reminding everyone that this isn’t just for the real artist, but for whatever we create, I’ll share the results of pulling out my watercolors after long stretch.

I did another tree, just playing to see what I could do with a single color of paint. The photo gave the paper a nice blue wash, which it doesn’t actually have but looks kind of nice.

Thanks, GaliWalker! I make no pretense of having any great skill with the watercolors, so I’m very pleased when anything comes out decent I tried a landscape at the same spot I painted the tree, and proved again that perspective is really hard 🤣. I do better with small things, and best when working from photos, but right now I’m painting in part for therapy, and I also hike to keep my head together, so I tried combining the two.

My granddaughter is into a mod of Minecraft called “dogcraft” by a woman called “Stacy Plays” The two of us put together dogcraft scenes using her “favorite biome, the Mesa” and then drew what we wanted in pencil and painted. Daisy is learning the true artists reality, that your end result never quite matches your vision, so she has declared this painting, “the ugliest thing we ever did.”
