We have a lot of creative people here. I believe something about people who like to get out in nature and enjoy solitude as a way to recharge, also stimulates creativity. Anyway, the old forums showcased some great art and some interesting doodles. We have painters, carvers, wood block printers, writers, sculptors, weavers and fiber artists and jewelry makers and more. let me start with a picture of a painting, on stone that Olyhiker gave me one Christmas

Such special art, Echo!
I'll have to hunt out some pictures of some of my work. It will be the inspiration to people not to be bashful--celebrate your art, whatever the quality!

This thread needs more contributions. !It does! But I haven't done any art for a long time now. Not visual art, I mean. Though I guess manipulated photos might count (I don't do those, either).

The paint and sip party idea spreads all over the country. I've done these three local scenes at parties here and the funky wall was painted by my then five year old Grubbygoose [

Where is BigLoad with his annual woodblock Christmas card? Today I tried the old Starry Night sky over the mountain that was framed in my bedroom window as a child. I swear I saw rudolphs nose over it one Christmas

Those are great, Markskor! I use unlined journals so that I can sketch as well as write, though with me words are always where I go first. Sometimes I carry watercolors, but have mostly stopped--I never seem to have time and energy for that while on BP trips. Okay, I promised to share some so people won't be shy about not being good artists. Here's one from 2009 (the first I stumbled on to upload):

I bought these 2 bowls from a poster here. For his privacy, I will wait until he chimes in to claim them

Before I switched to photography as a medium I used to sketch - old fashioned pen and ink stuff. This is one of my last sketches, from 1996, just before I traded in the pen for a camera fully, of my wife-to-be (she still married me!):

By all this I conclude that there are people here with more talent AND patience than I have.
I love those bowls, Zeke. I hope the maker claims them! I was sorely tempted by something like that at the Mountain Light gallery in Bishop last spring. Stopped mostly by not having any practical use for them.
