A bit in the morning. She'll go home with the baby for her to take a nap though, so Saturday afternoon into evening it'll just be me. Dang, I was hoping to meet the new baby. It now looks like we "might" be spending the night on Sat.

Talking with Barbara a bit more now, we're thinking maybe she'll bring the little one up for a bit Saturday afternoon/evening. Not for long, but just a few hours to hang out and enjoy the place while the toddler gets dirty. No saying for sure yet, but maybe. - Mike

It's not the dirt. We'd just like to get a decent night's sleep and right now that wouldn't happen if she were along. She sleeps great at home but this'd be a different story and at least one of us would be constantly "on duty". Nobody would sleep particularly well, just yet. Next year. - Mike

Hey guys, How far beyond Blackhawk is the turnoff to Pickle Gulch. We went there last time in the dark, and I don't remember seeing a sign for that turnoff. Someone had given me directions last time. What mile marker is it near? Thanks.

About 3 miles beyond Black Hawk. Your turn is Missouri Gulch Road, which is just past Gilpin High School. There is a sign on 119 for the Pickle Gulch Campground.

The pickle has been gulched. I repeat - the pickle has been gulched.
That is all.

Was there a 14er trip? If so, which one?

No 14er. Moz, Interloper/HandsomeSteve, and I managed a short hike up to an alpine lake Saturday afternoon. Other than that there was no exercise that a doctor would recommend, unless there was activity going on in the hammocks and tents that I'm not aware of.
It was my first PG, but there was a more or less constant stream of people in and out, so coordination of a major hike wasn't viable without a forceful advocate.

The pickle has been gulched. Will somebody start a new thread for stories and photos? Then I'll remove this one as old news.

In the years I attended, Spindle usually corralled the 14er crew. I think she takes too much enjoyment in waking people up at the appropriate time.
