I shall also not be attending this year due to life drama and conditions. Life always gets in the way of fun.

You'll all be happy to know I won't be attending this year. So, there! I guess that means I'm in!

...and I think I'll also invest in a charcoal table and some cast iron trivets. I've seen things like this (see below) used among the Scouting community here. You can find them about 4' long, often on sale for $30 or less. Plenty strong for two or three Dutch ovens. Just use the bottom of an old roasting pan or similar to hold the charcoal. www.lowes.com/pd_308765-72983-H-21_?productId=50163521

I don't think I'll be able to make it. One trip to CO in June, one in August...don't think I want to add one in Sept.

So I've decided that LonesomeGeorge and I really need to go and meet more of you in real life. He doesn't know it yet but I'm really gonna try to get us there! Social anxiety or not! What can we expect? How does it work? Do we need a specific job? Bring special food to share? Any special agenda I should know about? Will there be room for us? Can we bring grandkids? Do we need to reserve a spot? Rules and regulations?

Plenty of room. Kids welcome, as are dogs. Chip in some $$ towards food and campsites. Bring your own beverages, but if I recall correctly Deborah has plenty of leftover booze from prior years. We may have an overabundance of Crown this year. Come prepared to enjoy yourself. Some folks hike up a 14'er on Sat. Some do a lesser hike. Some sit in camp. Some go for a drive. Try not to forget where your tent / sleeping quarter is. Someone may help you find it, or not. Food has been plentiful, but this year is less certain than previous, due to Chuck being absent. If bringing kids, make sure you have snacks for them. Cookies, cake, chips, will all probably be there, but nothing they would like. Only rule I am aware of is: You must have fun.

Just don't go home in August. Excellent advice. I wish! The spouse and other kid kind of want me back. Not to mention work, the School Board, and the PTO. On second thoughts, move over, Deborah. I'm staying :D

We are flying in on Friday, and hitching a ride with Woodsie. Yep, I'll pick them up Friday. We will show up at PG sometime Saturday, just for the day. Lynne, I am really looking forward to seeing you and Chuck again!
