Guess I'll just go outside and eat dirt.....with butter on it. Good for you. Just make sure it's butter and not PAM.

I’m a bit more concerned that the average American eats 154 lbs of sugar per year, 133 lbs of high glycemic wheat and 110 lbs of very high glycemic potatoes. The vast majority of my sugar intake is probably with my coffee. I bake my own bread - no idea what the glycemic index is of the various ones I bake. I eat very few potatos, but I tend to use turnips when I make soup, and they're a first cousin to potatos.

You sound like you are one of them who know what they are doing and doing it well. Actually, I have no idea how to even measure what I'm doing. I bake bread because I like fresh stuff, and I've learned to make a few varieties that I like. I have no clue regarding the gluten, fiber, etc., in my breads, although presumably the one that incorporates about 1/4 whole wheat flour and lots of grains, herbs, seeds, and nuts is healthier than the others. Are turnips better or worse than white/red/russet potatos? Again, I have no clue. But if I'm going to ingest something that will kill me, I prefer it to be "real" (whatever that is) as opposed to made in a lab. I'd rather breathe the air in Puerto Williams than the air next to a coal mine. I drink some fancy ginger ale sold in a local store. It doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it, which is allegedly the root of all evil. But it tastes good. So it probably has a lot more real sugar to compensate. Oh well, at least it's real. Sort of, anyway.

For the sake of community discussion so others understand your perspective, what is the source of your complaining? Really?

Hard boiled eggs do hurt when thrown hard enough, but so far I haven't been killed by any.

Rule #1: Moderation Rule #2: Eat what makes you feel best, while adhering to rule #1. I, personally, do well on a high-fat diet, moderate-protein, high-fiber diet. I try to keep the fats unsaturated to the extent feasible.

One of my older hiking acquaintances, who is fairly trim, switched from oatmeal to eggs for his typical breakfast, but then his cholesterol shot way up. He went back to oatmeal (guessing the healthy stuff, not the sugar-filled packets).
If not on cholesterol meds, I’d get my blood monitored if increasing the numbers of eggs in the diet. Everyone’s metabolism is going to react differently, regardless of what the various food marketeers are spouting.

Rule #1: Moderation Rule #2: Eat what makes you feel best, while adhering to rule #1. Exactly (though I'm not as good at this as I should be.) It's like the "old saying,": on a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

In the “for” part of eating eggs is as a cheap source of good protein. Besides potential cholesterol concerns, another “against” is it’s easier to prepare cereal for most mornings and that’s a trend sweeping the globe.
Cereal and toast is a recipe that can be managed by most, so not sure I’d emotionally invest in an egg debate for the working public.

It's not the egg that kills you. It's what hatches from within.

A short, but probably entirely uninteresting and certainly unentertaining (except to me), history of my association with this, well, "strange" "egg thread". When I first noticed the thread, I thought the title was "egos will kill you", so I mentally nodded and moved on, because, uh, yes, that's very much true - almost self evident. I didn't venture further to explore thread responses. I admit, parenthetically, that I probably do need new glasses, if not a more active interest in the troubles of the denizens of this forum and their strange "adventures" with food (or inner mental direction, if that be the case). When I finally ventured within this thread today, I saw this: I'd rather breathe the air in Puerto Williams than the air next to a coal mine. Not content to merely let the name "Puerto Williams" pass without investigating further this strangely mixed linguistic construction, and being slightly intrigued about its location as well (given the known travel predilections of its user in the thread), I Googled it. What I got back was surprising, at least to me: Puerto Williams (Spainyie for "Port Williams") is a Chilean port, locatit on Isla Navarino facin the Beagle Channel. It is the caipital o the Chilean Antarctic Province, ane o fower provinces locatit in the Magallanes an Antártica Chilena Region an admeenisters the communes o Chilean Antarctic Territory an Cabo de Hornos. It haes a population o 2,874, includin baith naval personnel an civilians. Puerto Williams is in some contexts referred tae as the warld's soothmaist ceety. Frae Wikipedia: "Puerto Williams" Okay. I actually expected that, at least as far as location is concerned . I did not expect the strange twist on English, but, hey, I could at least read and understand it. Before traversing the link to the above, I noted the intriguing word "Spainyie" in the beginning of the entry returned by Google, so then searched for a "definition" of that term. One of the returned links was: A bubbly-jock is a bird that is aften upbrocht on ferms for meat. Bubbly-jocks are for ordinar eaten at Christenmas.
They wis brocht tae Europe bi the Spainyie that fund it in the Aztec launds in Mexico. Frae Wikipedia: "Bubbly-jock" There was even a picture, which, I admit, made the twisted English somewhat more understandable. I was beginning to suspect I had stumbled into a page of Wiki maintained by The Onion. But, no, it's actually the Scot language version of Wikipedia. Who knew? BTW, nice observations on "eggs". It's all relative, at least IMHO. Vary the menu, eat a little of this and a little of that (including eggs), but don't restrict your diet to white bread and fries only for a long period of time. You could go blind.

Puerto Williams is a sort of gateway to Parque Nacional Alberto de Agostini, Los Dientes, and Yendegaia. I have contacts in the area and plan to visit there, probably in 2021/2022. I think the cool kids call it "beta" nowadays, or maybe that's already out of style, I dunno. Los Dientes ("the teeth", so named for the pointed peaks) de Navarino (I seem to recall that Navarino was a Spanish priest, but I'm not entirely sure of that at the moment). This video is professionally done by a tour guide outfit, but you should get the idea. The W it ain't. What the heck this has to do with eggs, I don't know, but this forum is famous for thread drift.
We started with eggs, coconut oil, and dirt, sashayed our way through snake oil, popcorn, beer, fitbit, wine, coffee, whiskey, cookies, betasterols (huh?), Humpty Dumpty, sugar, bread, back to eggs (VERY briefly), yet another terrible pun from franco , PAM, turnips, eggs (as weapons!), the movie Sleeper, the movie Alien, and far southern Patagonia.
All in less than two pages.
I love you people.
