Fall is on its way in Maine. I took these 2 weeks ago (or is it 3 now?) in Acadia. When I get to them, I'll have some more dramatic photos from last week in the Whites, though it was also just starting there. We are headed north in a week and should start seeing some serious color.

Fall is on its way in Maine. Sweet! I'll post up pics when the leaves turn here in Arkansas. Places in this area rival the New England states for fall color. Still, would love to spend time in the NE states for fall changing.

Wow! I couldn't help a few shivers as I saw the ledge. Very dramatic. Is that you and your husband in the photo?
And the tree is lovely, a nice flame color. We don't have anything that intense here yet...but I'm anxious and waiting.
Thanks for sharing.

It was kind of a monkey-gym for grown-ups . He managed the whole thing with his poles in hand (or hanging from his wrists), but I stowed mine in my pack to keep them out of my way.

hikerchick395, lovely distance photos. I like the path of the evergreens in the first, as if they're marching up to the summit. In the second photo, I especially like the softness of the foreground vs. the rugged mountains in the back.
Deborah , lovely, and nicely balanced photo with the border trees softened by the soft glow of the aspens, and the aspens themselves highlighted by the evergreens in the background.

Not much happening in the upper story (aka trees), as of now, in the mid-Atlantic. The bushy stuff is the only one with some color... GaliWalker in Dolly Sods, West Virginia

Thank you, autumnmist. When the aspens are in full color the entire area seems to glow.

I'm grateful to all of you who have shared pictures of Fall. We're still having mid-summer here in MD...

We don’t get a lot of color here, but what we do is usually red leaves on the poison oak as it wraps around the base of the redwoods. Still, as I drove home today after work, the sun broke through the clouds and highlighted a bit of gold.
