From last Saturday, atop Bear Church Rock, in Shenandoah National Park. It may look nice and idyllic in the photo, but what you can't see is the 60mph wind that was buffeting me around as I took this. I was careful to stay well away from the edge, just in case I got knocked off my rocky perch. Even breathing was difficult, because my breath was getting snatched away. And it was cold in the fierce wind. Normally, I'd have stayed at this great viewpoint for an hour. In this case, I was up there for barely 10min, before I headed back down, into the relative shelter of the ridge. Just before I got to my car, I saw a tree come crashing down slightly off the trail. Note: I also heard the tree falling down, thus putting to rest the question about whether a tree makes a sound if it falls in the forest.

Tahoe snow ski season is about over. Did post a few more GoPro Hero 8 videos on Youtube. Difficult for this economic senior peon to commit to driving long distances given $5+ gasoline prices that has limited all my road trips. www.youtube.com/@davids1586
California lower elevation 2024 wildflower spring photography is also about over now. Much better conditions after last spring's 2023 wet winter but still though limited, offered this landscape photographer a bit of excellent material.
Last August bought a Sony a6700. So have retired my a6000 used since 2014, though use the same set of sharp prime lenses. Significantly, the model has Sony's new Focus Bracket function I previously had to tediously perform manually during the capture phase. Downsized for web. Right mouse select to enlarge.

What an amazing day hiking Dobongsan and taking in the views from the summit! The scenery was truly breathtaking. We learned so much about the trails and history of the area from our guide, Hans. He helped us appreciate the small details that made it such a memorable experience discovering this natural spot in Seoul. Definitely recommend checking it out if you want to explore some less touristy areas of the city. If you want a guide suggestion I'd suggest checking Hans at gowithguide.com/korea/seoul/guides

My training venue, Yellow Fork Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah. The area features numerous trails that can be combined for a variety of custom hikes ranging in length from 4-10 mi. with verticals from 800'-2,000'. A splendid, early season, design your own hike platform. Located on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley in the Oquirrh mountain foothills. Easily on most hikers' worst hikes list, is golden for me!

Here's another photo of the approaching storm, taken a minute after the previous one and right at sunset (which made for some pretty dramatic lighting). I packed up hurriedly afterwards.

A Pink Lady Slipper! Very cool! Last time I saw on of those was in Michigan's UP last June near marshy areas.

Here is my version of that but I like your angle better. What looks to be very fine water droplets on yours makes it look like (to me) that it was a very cool morning.

Yup, it had rained overnight, and a fine gentle misty rain fell on me throughout my hike.
