So cool! GaliWalker I don’t have any pictures from there, but when I was little I camped in Death Valley with my Dad and his Brother-in-law. I remember being disappointed that a pack rat didn’t steal anything of mine. Also I was warm but my Dad said he froze all night because I stole his sleeping bag from him. Thanks for those memories.

The Winter weather has been brutal for astrophotography . In the past 3 months, I have only had 6 clear evenings. I was able to get one session in on the comet, and then was able to get in three more targets by shooting one early in the evening until midnight, then switching to another one after my first target too low. Thor's Helmet aka The Snail Nebula M81/M82 I only had a list of five targets that I really wanted to shoot this Winter. This is the only one on the list I was able to get to, and it still needs another 12-16hrs , but that will have to wait until next Winter... LDN 1622, "The Boogeyman"

I've clearly missed out by not keeping up with this thread. I usually avoid photos with anything artificial, but I couldn't resist this time.

One more from Joshua Tree National Park: This rock formation has to be most iconic in Joshua Tree. Here's the shot I got. I think MS Doolittle was along on that camp. 2005

Flickr recently had their "Submit Your Best Photo for 2022" contest. Flickr, owned by SmugMug, is used by many professional photographers of which I am not one. Professional, that is. But, I usually submit what I think is an okay photo. Because, why not? It may get a few more views. The reaction to this one blew my mind. It was taken by my phone on the outside patio of a local brewery. The photo with the most views I had ever taken, previous to this one, has around 3000 views and has been up on Flickr for around 7 years. I'm proud of that one. But, this contest entry by me has almost 45,000 views and I don't really know why. Palo verde flowers with misters Flickr
