I have been doing some research on the Revelation sleeping quilt and there seems to be a general agreement that people love this quilt. I am looking to replace my current outdoor vitals bag with this quilt and was wondering if anyone had anything bad to say about it?

What temp? The Revelation and Enigma are identical except that the Revelation has the zipper and drawstring to open or close the footbox, whereas the Enigma has a sewn footbox, which saves a bit of weight. For a warmer-rated bag the Revelation is a good choice where you would be in temps where you actually might use the flexibility of opening the footbox. But for a colder bag you most likely will be keeping the footbox closed anyway so no point in carrying the extra weight of the Revelation, the Enigma becomes the better choice between the two.

I will be using it in a wide range of temps. The lows being probably between 20 to 30 degrees. Then there's the normal California summer highs. So I am thinking to keep the quilt as versatile as possible I should probably get the Revelation that has the adjustable footbox. Thank you everyone for the input. I have to say this has been one of the more helpful and welcoming forums to new members that I have been on.

I purchased the Revelation last spring and used on the Greenland ice sheet for nearly a month. I also used it last fall in the Cascades. It was a great purchase. I plan on using it as an underquilt for my hammock as well this coming spring.

I purchased a 10 degree Enigma last year- my 1st quilt after a lifetime of mummy bags so I'm still trying to adapt to the change but the Company is very responsive. I asked on their chat line if the neck draw string could be replaced with a shock style cord, and they immediately responded that it was not possible because of the way the string was sewn in. Between now and this time last year, they have ramped up their production and customer service so they are really at the top of their game now.

I will be interested to see if it's really a 20 deg bag. It's not at thick (lofty) as the spouse's MH 20 degree bag, but I don't know exactly how that works. Plus, I used to have a bag like his and roasted in it all the time, so it may be a very conservative rating. he's planning to try my quilt some to see if he wants to convert--the weight difference between his bag and my quilt, both rated at 20 deg, is over a pound.

I hadn't figured that out. Thanks. I knew I could just link to the photo again, but I was kind of yanking Zeke's chain
