I tallied volunteer hours the other day and it was just over 300 hours working on trails, driving to work on trails, or organizing work on trails - that's a record for me by a lot.
Besides that there were at least 4 trips just for fun. I've often counted bag nights, but I guess I was too busy this year. I'm really thankful for the opportunities and good health, and hoping for a lot more!

Still retired and hiking full time? Yep! Would've liked to get out even more than we did this year, but we had a somewhat wet & dreary summer & fall up here ... so it was hard to time backpack trips to good weather forecasts. My wife & I did our share of crappy weather hiking while we were weekend warriors, so we've been trying to time backpack trips to when there is a high probability that our rain gear is mostly academic. Nothing beats the Cdn Rockies in the sunshine!

I only went on 5 backpacking trips this year. But I was able to do a lot of camping especially after moving to Wyoming in June. I had run out of places to go in Illinois and I'm glad to finally have access to the mountains and wilderness. Between June and October I spent 1 night a week camping on average. This year I also climbed my first 13er, went on my longest day hike, and had my first hiking injury (sprained ankle).

We did lots of shorter trips this year. 150 miles of backpacking and another 100+ of day hikes. Next year should be better...

I've only been managing one or two backcountry trips per year for a while now.
Every January a group of us snowshoe 4 miles into a backcountry cabin in the UP and spend the week x-country skiing and snowshoing. So that was my first trip this last year.
I do a lot more car camping than I used to since I became more of an avid mountainbiker. Several camping/mbing trips this spring/summer/fall.
This last fall my only backpacking trip was up into the UP for 5 nights. I'm over due for a trip out west (or even out east).
Locally I do dayhikes, mbing, snowshoing and x-country skiing so I get year long tree time.

Just had a couple backpacking/camping trips this year.
One was in the Cloudcroft, NM area (Sacramento unit of the Lincoln National Forest), and the other was in Pecos Wilderness (Santa Fe NF); near Santa Fe, NM.

Had a fairly typical year, 2 five day trips, 2 three day trips, and a couple of over-nighters. Might even get in one more over-nighter before the year is done. Spent another 10 days or so car camping in CO and NM. Also got out on quite a few dayhikes, trailruns, fishing trips, etc. Life is good.

Was quite active per below, more than most years. Several road trips and a lot of day hiking. 4 backpacking trips totaling 27 days. Did a whole lot of hiking during the two week long Death Valley road trips.

After retiring next month from decades of hi tech work, will have much more time for all manner of outdoor adventures that will start as the current ski season now moves into prime time.

This year I was out doing trail maintenance for 67 days. I am not sure how many other days I was out in the backcountry, so I don't have a total.

Way way way less than planned. Only a couple 5ish mile dayhikes. Had planned to do my first backpacking trip in September but got sidelined by some back problems. Nothing bad, but just enough to keep me from being very active. Hoping to remedy that for 2017 big time.

Not as much as I would have liked, but any outdoor time is good. I took 23 day hikes including 5 New Hampshire 4,000 footers. Hopefully those numbers will be much bigger at this point in 2017.

Silly me is trying to cram a 2 year degree in a year and a half and started January 2016. This means I backpacked exactly zero days in 2016. Zip. Nada. I would say I got in a nice little hike on our local trails at least half of the days in the year due to deciding that sleep was over rated, but looking forward to some extended trail time in 2017. I NEED IT!

I never get out or even stay out as much as I'd like, but thankful for the times that I do.
