Hey everyone!
We are joining this forum - my husband and I both have the same week off in mid-may and we've decided to trade in our normal Jamaican vacation to go backpacking for our first time ever! I know we can get lots of info off of this board so that's why we're here. Can't wait to get to know ya'll!
Sincerely,
Lisa

Welcome to both! Jump right in and start reading. There's a lot to be learned in the Gear forum, and some specialized info in the Women's forum.

Welcome from another resident of the Texas Hill Country. Glad you joined us. It's tough finding good backpacking opportunities in Texas, but your fellow Texans will be happy to help out.

Howdy and welcome from the Pacific Northwest! I grew up in the great state of Texas, deep in the Big Thicket. I sweat less up here.

Howdy! Where were you thinking of going in May? That's a bit early for the high country.

Welcome, from the third board member in the Texas Hill country!
There's a section under 'Destinations -> Southern' where you can read older relevant discussions on Texas destinations or initiate new queries of your own.

Howdy! Where were you thinking of going in May? That's a bit early for the high country. Yes that's part of our struggle! Figuring out where we can go that won't be snowed under :/ maybe Arkansas?!
