I will also give you details for a relatively easy day hike starting just an hour from Jackson that will get you over 11,000', higher than anywhere on the Crest Trail. On this hike one sees the remotest peaks of the 48 states. image hosting site

booked our condo in teton village for mid June! we are taking the time and driving there from Michigan. can't express how excited we are.

June is a bit early. There will still be plenty of snow.
It takes 2 days to get to Wyoming from Michigan. No point in taking you're time. There's not much interesting to see between points A and B.

Yeah, no Teton Crest this year for you with those dates barring a major anomaly in spring. The Black Canyon in northern Yellowstone a great trip that time of year. Awesome valley backpacking in GTNP with big lakes. Canoe Leigh and String Lakes if you can. Granite Creek [SE of Jackson in BTNF] dayhiking or overnighting will be awesome. My favorite time of year to do southern Crest of the Granite Hi-Line, gret early flower show. Another one of my favorite places. image urlpost img

Go somewhere in Nevada. Find out about the Desert Trail. Write the Desert Survivors and ask them about it.
