My parents had a set of Koss something. If headphones could be worn out, I surely would have accomplished that feat, playing various sorts of music. Looking at images now, they were the same 4AA or something similar, 70s vintage.
Much to my surprise, they're still in production (since 1970).

My memory tells me that that jack was a good 5mm in diameter. I'm not sure if modern receivers have such a jack. From what I can tell the modern 4AA are 6.3mm, or 1/4 inch.

Mine hade a standard 3/8" tip and ring jack. I don't think mini-jacks were common then. My newer Sony monitors have a 3/8" jack that unscrews to reveal the 1/4" jack at its core. Whenever I take off the outer jack, I worry about losing it.

"Retired in the late ’80s, Koss swiftly returned the Pro4AA headphones to its product lineup due to overwhelming popular demand. They have since remained a staple of studio headphones in the radio and recording industries. Koss Pro4AAs meet the stringent demands of broadcast and recording professionals who require reliable equipment and superior performance. The full size professional headphones keep unwanted sounds out while letting every note in." I can attest to that last part. They kept both my parents and I pretty happy. koss.com/collections/over-ear-headphones/products/pro4aa

Shorter was co-founder of one of my favorite jazz fusion groups, Weather Report. It's the passing of a giant. He came a bit later than the guys who became eternal legends, after the popularity of jazz had waned, so he didn't get such widespread recognition. Weather Report was different, fresh, and lively. They made some really fun and interesting music. Of course my favorite member was Joe Zawinul, perhaps no so much for what he did with them as for his hard bop work with Cannonball Adderley.

I have to start from the beginning the first time, but I binge-play the Rhodes solo that starts about 1:58 (don't miss the beginning). It's so simple and basic. Any decent player can make the notes, but it's impossible to duplicate how it hits you. The effect depends too much on the nuances of rhythm and expression.

Today Fresh Air celebrated Doc Watson's 100th birthday. I was lucky enough to see him at a small venue in Atlanta in 1982. Here's a nice performance from roughly that era.

Up to date prog-type “softer” rock featuring a guitarist with a two handed technique she learned from piano with her group Covet. Found this in Guitar World’s response to its own earlier interview with the Who’s Pete Townshend saying that all that could be done with rock guitar has been done. However there’s jazz, prog-rock, etc.. Last of the original Lynard Skynard line up to pass away. That group had it tough when most of their line up perished in the ‘70s plane crash. Their various post-crash line ups were good enough musicians but any original music paled to what was.

Fifty years ago Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon was released. fifty years ago I turned eighteen. Fifty years ago I joined the Army. fifty years ago I first smoked pot. (Still do.) Fifty years ago I ventured from home and a life found me. Fifty years ago if you would have asked me what my life would be like in fifty years, There is no way I could have imagined what this world would be like. Fifty years ago this album came out. Do you remember?

Fifty years ago this album came out. Do you remember? Pink Floyd is still my favorite band, although DSOM is not my favorite album. Hard to order them, but maybe: Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell, Animals, Meddle, DSOM, etc. I also really like David Gilmour's solo work, but he's my second cousin so maybe I'm biased.
