If you listen to Bela when he plays, you'll hear how the notes are very stacdato - minimal sustain, unlike a guitar, which is what originally struck me about wwbf's post. I'm not musically gifted (at all), but after listening to it, I totally understand what you're saying.

I'd be interested to hear BigLoad 's opinion. I'm not sure it would be worthy of your interest, but it is a topic I ponder now and then without a solid conclusion. My abbreviated conclusion is that large hands confer an advantage on the piano, even in forms of music that don't include huge intervals, but a surprising number of players achieve excellence with smaller paws. Flexibility is a partial substitute. My fingers are roughly average in length, but my hands are wide enough that I prefer XL gloves (most of my clothes are S), and I can spread them wider than most people, maybe from a lifetime of practice. I only have a couple limitations purely dictated by size, but I'd love to see what I could do with hands like Jon Batiste or James Booker. (As long as they don't come with James Booker's problems).

Thanks, zeke. Nice song. Let her know that I'll be playing it on my show this Sunday morning (American Traditions, 10 to noon) probably in the first hour. She can stream it at KXCI.org if she wants. Is her name pronounced Reemee?

I'm just now listening to Sunday's show and yeah, the set that featured Remi's song was pretty chill. I think it balanced out the first set where there was some screaming going on about mustaches. I hope Remi keeps writing and singing. Because the audio is high quality, putting her work on the radio was an easy decision.

Intersteller A long rendition on a pipe organ, but really worth listening to.

We've lost Graeme Edge, the drummer for the Moody Blues. When you watch the video, note John Lodge's expression on his face.
