Bring coffee making devices ! Is this place, like, really ruffin' it? I mean, like, y'know - civilized or anything? Are there outlets near by? Keurig comes to mind. No electricity. I guess this means no TV then too? Dang, it's gotta have at least 3 bars on my 'pad tho. No Fox? No MSNBC? Wadayado fer entertainment - like talk or something? ROUGHING IT! [Just sent BlueBear on his way to give a talk on Science this morning to kids his children's age - about an hour and a half away near the beach. Easy drive time in LA. We need more involvement, like this, from science knowledgeable adults.]

Heck, most don't even get a cell signal without going to Blackhawk. It's really in the sticks!

I'm driving from Chicago. Someone tell me what I can bring? Where to park? And where to pitch my tent. Is there an address posted somewhere? I went to the link, but don't see an address for maps. Here is AAA directions, but Chicago is a big place, and this does not count stops etc: www.aaa.com/mapshare/?desc=route&routeid=8884407

Often those who fly in end up at my place on Sunday for a quick shower before their flight. Arriving Thursday night, 9:30 pm. Planning to stay in Denver for the night. Flight out on Sunday at 4:30 pm. Shower might be great... though I was thinking it might be a strategy to get a whole airplane row to myself...

Bummed. Have commitment to provide volunteer support in Salt Lake for the US International Classic Figure Skating Championships that week and manage a tailgate parking lot for Utah vs. San Jose State on the 17th. Someday.............

Have commitment to provide volunteer support in Salt Lake for the US International Classic Figure Skating Championships I think you have that same conflict each year. Are your kids participating in the event? Someday for sure!

Are your kids participating in the event? Our son will compete in the US Junior/Novice Challenge Skate portion of the event. Pickle Gulch ranks high on my to do list!

I may well be taking a kid to school that weekend. In San Diego. Probably won't be able to commit, in any case. But the following year...I think I'll be able to come and bring the spouse.

I'm hoping to be there. Probably sleep in car in parking lot again. I'm pretty sure our late Sept. trip won't conflict.

OK, have now dusted off the treadmill that was buried under home renovation debris.
Very flat here in Michigan and I'm guessing someone is going to make me go uphill.
I'm pale and out of shape. Pretty bad considering I spent 3 weeks in the Grand Canyon in April/May. But since my son's been home from school, I've turned into a vampire, working in a window-less cubicle all day and prowling dark seedy jazz joints at night. Weekends have been spent trying to get my house back from contractors from the said home renovations. We do have a vacation planned next month to Italy -- originally thought about hiking in the Dolomites but have decided to go eat in Emilia-Romagna instead. You all may have to roll me down the hill in September.
