Ha! I'm still stuck in that stage where you're like a teen again--zero predictability. Mom tells me that based on her experience I probably have at least a year to go. I would have to come from a family of late bloomers ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/6271026/images/BM8Lg9hpQ8qTtb8QU740.gif)

Every single trip of my life seems to have been "mistimed" if you get my drift: All FIVE Grand Canyon Rim-2-Rims, Yosemite, Smokey Mountains, BOTH Kauai trips (including the Honeymoon This summer while packing for Colorado I did give "It" a fleeting, cursory thought, "Seriously, why bother....surely it has been so long...." Left all emergency stashes at home. Then we got up to Missouri Basin and began to set up camp.....EGADS! Mr. Piper, "Uh, sure hope they don't have bears here." LOL!

Piper, I didn't have a period all summer. But I sure as heck carried the supplies all the miles! I had high hopes I'd seen the last of it, but with the start of school went back to having regular, or irregular, periods. WTH? Though I'll take it that way rather than the other!

LOL, I'm hoping it is the change in altitude. If so, when we finally manage to get ourselves out your way permanent-like (cause trust me the down-sizing is already beginning ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I will be almost 18 again. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to trade my reading glasses back in. This summer my biggest worry was eyewear. Did I want to see close (food) or far (mountains) or both....bifocal contacts rock.

Still in the random, whenever, whatever stage here. There are times when it is really light; I like that, but then the Great Flood hits. Waiting for the end... please. Looking for it. :(

My layering system is becoming very refined. I'm just glad it's not the middle of summer right now. Triple digits and hot flashes ... something to look forward to in June.

I seem to have run a little low on hot flashes now that I could use them. Figures.

I'll probably never hit menopause again. Like my mom and a couple cousins, I had an early menopause, basically ten years off in my 20's, but after I gave birth at 30, and my mom did at 36, it appears like clockwork. Heavy and painful compared to the teen years as I remember it. I do suddenly never feel cold, even when my house is around 40 degrees, except now, when I have chills and fever, but I don't think this, being over a year long transformation from always being cold, really counts as a flash. It's been a few years since I've talked to Mom in a real, not dealing with dementia way, but she was still having her period at 68

I've tried to think about what is good about menopause. I am firmly in the Menopause Sux camp. Day to day, never know what's gonna happen.

Day to day, never know what's gonna happen. Or what might I might say ... the filter is rapidly deteriorating and I now just say what I think. And sometimes, it's not very nice. lol

Hysterectomy 13 years ago....but backpacking on my period was never fun. Avoided it if I could. Happy to be free! :(
