I was planning to go to the annual Scandinavian Festival a few towns over, but the forecast turned to rain. Then it changed again. Maybe I'll go after all.

Do you get a god high from that? And is it legal in WA? A god high? Maybe a demigod. *bigherculeanhighgrins* And yes, it is totally legal in WA ... I think ... maybe. Rumi

My Wife and I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary a few weeks early. Flying into Vegas tonight, driving to Bishop and Parcher's Resort near South Lake tomorrow then 6 days in King's Canyon. Whooo!

Half way through my road trip. Got pictures of the beaver dams on the Blue River. Only one other couple at the campsite. In Showlow now waiting for breakfast. Trying to decide to continue north and camp someplace outside Flagstaff or start heading south.

#2 son had a football game yesterday. Celebrated #1 son's birthday at Texas Roadhouse today and split some firewood.
Tomorrow I may do some gold panning.

Correction: My Labor Day plans now include actual labor. I was informed today that we'll be painting. That will be in addition to about six loads of laundry. Lucky me!

I was planning to go to the annual Scandinavian Festival a few towns over, but the forecast turned to rain. Then it changed again. Maybe I'll go after all. It was a perfect day, and the festival was very well attended. I didn't eat any Swedish Pancakes there because that's what I made for breakfast. Monday might be a monster hill repeat workout day, with blue corn buttermilk pancakes for breakfast.

Rumi Blasted keyboard on this antique laptop! It resists typing sometimes. I've been leaving out letters all over the place, but usually the spell-checker catches them.

I'm currently at work. I'll go home soon, sleep for several hours and then come back to work this evening.

canning 40 pounds of peaches Ugh this reminds me I have a LOT of fruit waiting to be dealt with. Two cases of plums, a case of pears, 2 cases of apples and a case and a half of asian pears. I've had no time this year for canning so I'm freezing everything to make wine later or dehydrating it. I did have some pork loin with plum bbq sauce last night and it was fantastic. If I let it sit too long the fruit flies take over an I can pretend I'm out camping with gnats.

I made strawberry and peach jam earlier this year for the first time. Guess what? The FDA doesn't recommend the same method my 88 year old mother has used for decades. They turned out OK, but I'll tweak them next year.
Hermine is far enough away that it's Clean Up The Garden Day, as well as Freeze Some Veggies For The Winter Day. Life is good. It doesn't always require a tent.
It was also Relocate The Raccoon Day. I'm trying to trap a groundhog which is eating a bunch of stuff, but so far have only trapped a squirrel and a raccoon. Life goes on...

As I said this morning, I had to go in to work, and as is usual the view from my "cubicle" totally sucked. . . . I don't know how you can stand it. I'd suggest going home, getting drunk, and smearing organic free range GMO-free Cheez Whiz on your belly. Then falling asleep on the couch with your mouth open.

Labor Day? Oh. Now I know what the little red "5" meant on my calendar. Who'd have even suspected? Let's see, I'm getting ready to clean a furnace. Too wet to patch my roof, so procrastination is justified. Reading a couple books in my spare time. Eh, I'll leave the roads to their traffic, hit the backcountry mid-week or so. Too much excitement for you? Okay, I'll quit.
