Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Along with backpacking I enjoy motorcycles and hunting. I use a hammock for camping and enjoy making most of my equipment myself.

Well, between our breaks for a laugh now and then, we can get down to a lot of information — some of it with a variety of approaches and opinions. Ask us anything.

Welcome from Colorado. I adopted Colorado as my home in 2001 after spending most of my life in Tulsa. What town do you call home?

I hope the forum is informative and a good place to learn and grow. The forum can be informative, but you learn & grow on the trail. Let me recommend planning a trip to the Pecos Wilderness in northern New Mexico sometime before October. Start collecting maps of places to hike in Colorado, make plans, and make yourself go. McGee Creek is a hidden gem - I enjoyed it so much I considered tipping the ranger.

And another Texas welcome. Seems like we have more and more hammockers here, which is great.
