I live 2 towns over from Duxbury, MA but despite its apparent amazingness (since it made the list) I almost never go there.

I notice that I don't live in or near any of those towns. Heck, my state isn't represented at all. I wonder if that's a coincidence.

Keeping it simple ya'll, just vote Jim Thorpe. Nice little town, an Opra House, river for rafting, great bike trails, good hiking trails, an old coal fired train that runs up the gorge, fantastic 19th century architecture, and its named for a man who didn't live there until after he died...
Jim Thorpe, the town, won a contest essentially that allowed Jim Thorpe, the famed athlete, to be buried there. Prior to the name it went by Mauch Chunk (spelling might be off).

we locals will all be moving to the Gallatin We're short of space but we might be able to squeeze in one more, possibly two. Choose wisely....

As soon as I win the lottery I'll be right up. About the only way I 'll be able to afford living there.

Bring your tent. We've been remodelling for the past year. You can sleep in the backyard although it looks like a muddy construction site.

just get Forbes to stop saying JH is the best ski area in America. Ya, it's actually probably Big Sky that's the best. Both are great if yo can afford them.

Yeah, I don't get Billings... at all. Weird.
I've lived in Jackson for the last 14 months.. I would never want to live here, no matter if money grew on a tree in the backyard.
I'm perfectly happy in Bozeman.

I'm perfectly happy in Bozeman. Ah, Bozeman. The Boulder of the north. It's like Jackson with a college and getting almost as expensive.

Jackson is 100-200% more expensive than Bozeman. I live in a condo in town that is $3,600 a month rent. In Bozeman, this would be about half that or less. A tear-down home in Jackson is in the $500,000 - $800,000 range. That's to get an in-town lot to build on. Bozeman, compared with other similar towns, is actually quite affordable on a national scale. But it is true, it's more expensive than Billings by a fair bit.

OK, Brad, I'll give you that one. Guess I just can't over Bozeman not being the same town it was when I went to school there in the early 70s. But I guess nothing is the same now. Still, whenever I go there, I get the feeling that I'm experiencing a little slice o California in Montana and I suspect it will be even more so in the future. Ironic, since three of my children will soon be living there and I'll probably be spending a lot more time there. But you're right, it ain't quite Jackson - yet. Thankfully. Boulder, maybe. Or at least approaching it.
