Greetings, all, I am a new member and wanted to do a quick intro. Not sure if this is the right area for it so please feel free to correct me if I am in the wrong area.
Also, my typing is terrible, so please overlook the numerous typos you will find
A bit about myself; I am a lifelong outdoorsman and have done a lot of day treks and overnight camping and hunting trips. I am at a point where I want to begin checking off a few items on my bucket list and some extended trips are on it. Also, my daughter is old enough to start participating in some of the trips and is very enthusiastic about it. We are planning a trip to Daniel Boone National Forest this fall; I myself and headed to the Scottish Highlands next week for a 2 week trip. One of my places to go there is Ben Nevis, the highest point in the UK. Not a large mountain when compared to other peaks but a good start, I am thinking.
If anyone has been to the Highlands, please let me know any interesting places to visit. I am open to any input on locations.
That's about it, for now, looking forward to getting to know others here, sharing and learning a few tricks to make future expeditions more interesting.
Jay

Welcome Jay. Yeah, the Trailhead Register is often the place for introductions, so you're okay posting here. I've never been to the Scottish Highlands or to Daniel Boone National Forest. But since I am a direct descendent of a cousin to Daniel Boone's wife Rebecca, I almost feel like I was there in a former life.

Thanks, Travis.
I actually got the idea for this from one of the recommended trips on backpacker forums. We are planning on ding a part of the Sheltowee Trace. Will be in the Fort William area in Scotland, am hoping to see some of the coast, as well. Will bring back some pics and regale everyone with my adventures upon my return.

If I recall, there are a couple posters here who have been to the Scottish Highlands. I can't remember who exactly. But from the photos I've seen, there are some beautiful areas there and along the coast. So I'll be looking forward to see what you find. Good luck.

Welcome Jay! But since I am a direct descendent of a cousin to Daniel Boone's wife Rebecca, I almost feel like I was there in a former life. My wife is a descendant of Nathan Boone (Daniel's youngest son).

Good to have fresh blood joining in. Best of luck with the Scotland thing. Be sure to try out some good Scotch while there.

Hmmm, that might make your wife and I something like 9th cousins, once removed. I guess she and I are each directly descended from Rebecca Bryan Boone's grandfather.
Don't take me too seriously.

Welcome, Jay. These guys are being remiss. We need to know a few more things about you. To wit: your feelings on: bacon brussel's sprouts kilts beer beets
And dang, it's been a long time and I can't remember the rest of the list!
