Welcome!
I hiked and backpacked extensively in the Daniel Boone National Forest when I lived in Kentucky. If you need any recommendations I'd be happy to help.

ok to respond to the survey part above
bacon is chocolate for men
Brussels sprouts, good if wrapped in bacon
kilts - a go at most social occaisions
beer - the darker the better
Beets - not enough bacon in the world to make them good for me.
to respond about Daniel Boone forest, am looking at doing part of the Sheltowee Trace this fall, my daughter will be going on her first real backpacking trip with me. We are going to tackle about 20 miles of it over a long weekend, nothing too demanding as long as weather cooperates. let me know if there are any highlights to this trail we should hit, am open to suggestions.

Thanks, hikerjer, I have really appreciated the welcome here; seems there are a lot of good folks on the board. I have been tapping into the collective knowledge on some subjects and have gotten a lot of good, common sense responses, very refreshing in this day and age.
