Nah. There was one last week and I was bored this morning so I thought I’d spoof it.

As I stated in the original post... more info is needed. Halifax Nova Scotia, UK, or Pennsylvania?

Halifax is in Massachusetts silly. You mean Plympton, unless you're one of "those people" who recognize Halifax's fraudulent and illegal separation in 1734 (at the hands of witches, no doubt).

That particular Halifax was in the UK, as the spam poster has been quite determined to place ads here, for all sorts of things from fancy tables made from the roots of trees to driving opportunities. I can count about 7 different names they have posted under, getting banned each time.

One of my great wishes is for all places with the same name to be connected by wormholes. Sometimes I think about how I could use these portals to most quickly reach a non-wormhole place. I haven't figured out how to address place names that are too broad. For example the New York towns of Mexico and Florida are about an hour from me, but I'm not sure where in Mexico or Florida they would spit me out. Places like Bogota and Camden are a bit more precise.

If I were in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I wouldn't likely enter the wormhole to Halifax, Pennsylvania. And I've been to both of them.

One of my rules for places with more than one possible pair is that you get to choose where to pop out. Alternately, since it's instantaneous, you could set a rule that each destination is equally likely, and just pop back if you get the wrong one. However, that could become annoying with names like Springfield that could take a lot iterations to get the right one. I'm not sure what would happen if you popped into Moe's.

On my current road trip, I spent the night in Fayetteville, Arkansas; passed near Fayetteville, Tennessee; and might soon go through Fayetteville, North Carolina. I went through Boise, Idaho and Boise City, Oklahoma. Also Liberal, Oregon and Liberal, Kansas…but I don’t want to get this thread moved to the Political Arena.
