Same hint as previous post from same location, a summit named for a cartographer. Ahhh. Now I understand. I thought you were saying the subject mountain was named after a cartographer, but you were referencing your previous hint. (Leidy was a paleontologist).

If not, Sunshine (09/27/87) it must be Redcloud (09/27/87), with Wetterhorn (09/07/87), Matterhorn (09/06/87) and Uncompahgre (09/06/87) in background.

Nope Wetterhorn (09/07/87), Matterhorn (09/06/87) and Uncompahgre (09/06/87) in background That part is correct

I'm not guessing Handies Peak, because the angle of Wetterhorn is not right. But, my guess is one of the 6 high unnamed 13ers in the vicinity of Redcloud.

No photos survived; however, I think the quiz photo is from the north side of Lake Fork. Thus it must be one of the two centennial peaks Unnamed 13,832' or Unnamed 13,811' (07/24/94).

The photo clearly shows a trail, it's been 24 years but it's possible to be from the northwest saddle of Half Peak (13,841') summited with Red Doug on July 1, 2000. I may have photos but ......hold on! From the archives...September 27, 1987, ascent of Redcloud and Sunshine. John Elway was QB for the Bronco's as I listened to the game on the drive home.
So, I'm going with the south side of Lake Fork. Initial thought is Half Peak however your photo shows a trail indicating a more popular peak. It's gotta be Handies! My photo clearly shows Coxcomb Peak (13,656') which is clearly way west thus my photo is more east and yours more west looking easterly. In particular I recall Handies is a loop hike that traverses a long summit ridge. Making me nostalgic for scoring some Colorado Peaks....

Here we go! Still in Colorado. This peak is located near a popular multi-day backpacking loop.
