It's not El Capitan, nor is it in Yosemite Valley. In fact, the peak shares a name with another key feature in Yosemite National Park, and the trail leads to a numerically misnamed destinaton.

Well, I don't recognize the trail or peak. But your last clue makes me think of Ten Lakes. The peak cannot be Hoffman, because I see trees on top in your photo.

I'll throw out a guess: Tuolumne Peak. I was cheating and looking at maps, but really have no idea if my guess is correct.

It is the Ten Lakes Trail, and that is part of Tuolumne Park behind. And no, there are not Ten Lakes in Ten Lakes Basin.
So now who's up?
Btw, I don't think there are 20 lakes in 20 Lake Basin either...but that's just outside Yosemite
