I was staring at the wall, 'cause the game was in Texas and got "blacked out". :^( I wonder how many tickets they sold. It should have been quite a few. WNBC (NYC) interviewed some people who traveled from NY to see it live.

Sleeping Bag Man!, how do you feel about your Mariners now that they swept the Blue Jays in Toronto after overcoming an 8-1 deficit to win 10-9?

He’s probably nursing a hangover right now, but I can say that this Mariners fan is over the moon! My oldest son, who is also all in, was born the year the Ms were last in the playoffs.

I made my poor mother watch today's Mariners game, in which they blew a 9 run lead and lost. Reminded me of that infamous loss to Cleveland in 2001 when the Mariners coughed up a 12-run lead. A real kick in the soft and dangly bits. It sure feels nice when your team is the one delivering the blow.

Gotta admit...when it was 8-1, I gave up & went out for a hike. I've got some other things going on that are bumming me out. Gonna have to let GaliWalker carry the M's flag.

Judge re-signs with Yankees for $360M. That's $30M more than Bryce Harper's previous record in 2019.

Even so, it seemed like everyone thought he long ago decided to leave, and simply hadn't decided which other offer to take.

not me, he was gambling a bit and just won out; MVP, AL home run record etc. had that turned differently his not signing early could have been judged a mistake. But I just saw that as an expression of his confidence, not dissatisfaction with the club: he knew he was going to tear up the year and be in the best position to negotiate after the season, for the Yankees or wherever.

I applaud a union member using his bargaining leverage to obtain his fair share of growing corporate profits.

and $40 million less than San Diego put on the table. That's funny, considering how big a deal Bruce Beck (WNBC) made about Judge not giving a hometown discount.

Good for him. The Yankees do have a big wallet but this is a bad contract. You’re basically paying him for the next 3-4 years. He will be washed up at 35. A big man with a lot of injuries.
