The sleeping kind. Down.
I've looked at the FF Lark and Raven (same as Lark but larger, could be useful with more layers on), as well as the WM Badger.
Anyone ever use them? Opinions, other suggestions?

WM Badger. I had the Ponderosa for several years. Really loved that bag, but it ended up too warm for what I was doing. (Gave up camping in the snow)

I've come to think of sleeping bags as like another piece of clothing. You select what fits YOU and what others might choose is quite irrelevant.
There's no quality difference in your choices so its down to fit.
The one accessory choice would be the GWS shell or its FF equivalent versus MF or its FF equivalent. There as I prefer sleeping shelter less I would select the GWS, but ymmv.

enlightenedequipment quilt? I just ordered a 0 degree one. At their mention in another thread, I went over to the EE webpage and looked over the quilts. I'm now quite interested as I've been looking for a lightweight 0-5C option for summer camping. If only $1 USD wasn't $173.49 CAD.

0C = 32F. My summer quilt is a -7C/20F rating. Nothing about that is unusual at all, for the sunny Sierra....

A strong vote for the WM Badger... Carried one the last 5 years - Not big on winter camping so much anymore, but IMHO, the best bag for a larger person, Sierra.

MF, not GWS. I'm not concerned about condensation, wind, etc. Around here the air is pretty dry in winter. Sure, I can get condensation in the tent which could conceivably drip onto the bag, but it's not likely. And I rely on my tent for wind protection.
From WM's site:
Look for bags with a microfiber shell if you expect some contact with moisture.
Use Gore Windstopper™ sleeping bags in damp or extreme conditions to prevent moisture from reducing down performance.

Yeah that's the thing, I'm usually not in a tent.... hence my interest in GWS (I've got a Marmot with DryLoft a similar shell material)

MF or GWS?
Looked at both - (appear quite similar actually), but as I too do me some occasional cowboy - we also get the Sierra damp. Opted for the GWS and never have had any complaint - (even when the occasional river runs under the tarptent.) - always plush! To be forthcoming...Did not really try out the MF for longer than a night, so don't know if better or...just made an educated choice - the one that looked more stout. Whatever, my Badger GWS rocks Yosemite!

So, what do you guys think of GWS v MF, and on the FF side, Schoeller v Pertex?

WM shows shows it adds bulk and some weight so the wind resistance has to be necessary and that would mean not when routinely used in a shelter as I see it.
Antelope 6'6" MF: 2 lb 9 oz 8"x17" M GWS: 2 lb 15 oz 9"x18" L
Badger 6'6": MF: 2 lb 8 oz 8"x17" M GWS: 2 lb 13 oz 8"x17" M
