Yeah, I noticed that after I typed it, but didn't bother correcting. Draus would've got her red pen out for that one.

The CNOC Vecto looks like a great solution for scooping, and squeezing or hanging as a gravity filter. Have you used this much in the field? I've been reading a lot of reviews and most are positive, but I keep coming across complaints that it springs leaks or the water derives a bad chemical taste from the bag. No, I haven't taken it out yet. Bought a couple summer of 2019, thinking I'd do a trip before Pickle Gulch that year. It didn't happen. The CNOC was just a replacement for a previous bag that included cutting down the Squeeze bag for a scoop.

For me, the big selling point of the bladder was being able to get a little drink every few minutes— Where do you carry it for accessibility while hiking? I’m a little late to the party—but I usually put it in a side pocket, same as a water bottle. I balance the weight with fuel or some such.

I usually put it in a side pocket I can reach side pockets to pull things out, but not to put things back in.

My last few packs have a bladder sleeve (up to 3 liters) but I've moved away from using it the last few years.

driftwoody, the only reason I can think of to use a bladder is for the sip tube, which allows me to stay hydrated and deal with a tendency to a dry mouth (as opposed to a dry sense of humor, which is independent of my level of hydration).

I was equating a bladder with some of the smaller soft sided vessels which are used as water bottles without tubes.
This thread led me to purchase a kit with two 2-liter Vecto bladders and a Hydroblu filter which interconnect as a gravity filter.
I'm afraid I'll have to toss my Sawyer filter because one night on last trip the forecasted overnight low of mid-40's dipped below freezing, and I didn't put the filter in my shirt pocket. Letting it freeze is a no-no.

Letting it freeze is a no-no. :( I hate it when I do stuff like that. And thanks for a good reminder, as I’ve just shifted to a sawyer filter after years of just using chemicals.

Pretty much Smartwater 1L bottles which my latest pack is designed to carry (4x1L). I have a 1st gen CNOC plastic bladder that could be put into use carrying 2L more of water too, but it’s starting to lose its watertight seals after 4 years of continuous use, being dropped, etc..
