All the tornadoes missed us here just south of Birmingham. My mother-in-law was all worried, because she listens to James Spann who likes to tell specific neighborhoods to get in their safe place. The tornado never came near us. Thought I heard a tree go down last night, but I didn't notice any damage outside this morning though.

Well, so far in April, they're totally off for the NE.

The Midwest and the South have had some horriffic weather over the last couple of weeks and more is expected. Tight Lines Friends: weather.com/storms/severe/news/2020-04-24-thunderstorms-rain-severe-midwest-southHere in The Hole we are having one heck of a soggy spring on the valley floor. Our mountains have a good snowpack and we are getting more snow at higher elevations. Spring has sure come early here at 6,200', but I'm guessing there will be a few more "surprises" in the next few weeks.

Here in the midatlantic we seem to be having one of our long, cool, wet springs. I'm OK with that, but the storms/winds are getting bigger with climate change. Yeah, it's real. I'm old enough to have seen the change.

We could reach 100 today. If not, then Wednesday.

We could reach 100 today. If not, then Wednesday. We’re headed for 92 tomorrow, then back into the lower 80s. That’s more than hot enough for me. Ugh.

Lots of lightening as "severe" thunderstorms rolled through, but, even though there were tornado warnings in the area, we got 65 rain and no wind.

We've had a number of windy, cool days in a row. Cool enough to leave the windows open all day. Nowhere near 90 yet. Might reach 80 today.

The Southwest is basically breaking 100°F for the next couple days, busting April records in certain cities like Las Vegas. Once the high pressure system leaves, it’ll drop.

Today in Carson City, its a record 85 degrees, then it cools down into the mid 70's. Perfect for this time of year. I just wish Tuolumne Meadows were open for hiking.

Nice day today and I may need to go mow the lawn because we are getting hit with 1-2" of rain tomorrow.

72F (22C) today. That's just adding spring fever onto everyone's coronavirus fever.

72F (22C) today. That's just adding spring fever onto everyone's coronavirus fever. It got over 90 yesterday. That might actually help people to go inside and stay put by the AC.
