Sounds like a good day for wine tasting, if it weren't for certain other issues. Other issues haven't been slowing down my wine tasting. Pretty much the opposite.

Sounds like a good day for wine tasting, if it weren't for certain other issues. Wine sales are actually up quite a bit at retail stores. People are drinking at home! Restaurants, on the other hand, and suffering terribly...

Looks like spring is here, and rapidly moving on toward summer. Temps into the 80s by the end of the week.
We’d better be able to head to the mountains this summer. Our residence here is pretty much predicated on getting me out of here most of the summer, since I hate hot weather.

Chico, right? Lassen is your air conditioner--head there on hot days?

From Wed. through Friday we had AWESOME weather, 50s, sun, and light winds for the most part. Yesterday we had some really good rain here in the valley, sure hope it piled up as snow not too far above. Today is glorious sunshine, but was 12* this morning and not expected to get above freezing. As fortunate as I am out friends in the Southeast have some horrible weather to deal with. Heavy snow in the Great Lakes Region. Keep your sticks on the ice friends!

Chico, right? Lassen is your air conditioner--head there on hot days? Yes. Not sure about the ethics of heading up there just now, but by summer we should be able to go up. Of course, everyone else in the Valley will be wanting to do likewise. Anyway, I think if it's okay to go to Lassen, it's probably okay to go to a Sierra trailhead.

30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 60 kt and seas 13 to 18 ft possible. Holy Cow. I grew up near Sandy Hook. Looks like the weather will finally cooperate for us in the inter-mountain west. I am packed and ready to leave bright & early Tuesday.

We had 1/2 inch of rain in 15 minutes, pea sized hail and high winds. Then the temperature dropped from the 60's to the 40's in about 1 hour. Just another day in eastern Oklahoma.

We had lightning and thunder so close by yesterday, the rumbles shook the house more than Saturday's swarm of earthquakes. I don't mind either...storms or quakes...if they don't cause any damage.

5*F here in The Hole this morning. Sunny with a high of 31*F this afternoon!
There were sever tornados in the southeast yesterday. Let's all send some great karma to our friends out there.

It also appears that the SE United States can expect some potentially sever weather this Easter Weekend. The forecast here in north Alabama calls for severe thunderstorms, large hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes. Should be an interesting day. Had it all. Though it turned out that it was less of an interesting day and more of an interesting night as the afternoon storms just brought rain, wind, and a little hail here and the twisters waited until nightfall. Only minor injuries nearby, typical damage from wind (lots more trees down due to the rain-soaked ground). Had half a dozen police/fire vehicles come down our road about 10pm. Seems someone either hydroplaned or got swept off the road by water overflowing the road, but either way, ended up in a pond. Quick response...driver is ok. Not sure about the truck.

5*F here in The Hole this morning. A friend came over Togwotee Pass this morning and reported -17*F... that's brisk for April! Compared to the Hole, we were a balmy 12*F this morning, but it's warmed up to 28*F currently.
Snow on its way tomorrow...
