Is that a spinning wheel in the background? Yes, although I was told the correct terminology is walking wheel. It belonged to my wife's grandmother. My wife got it when her grandmother died but it was missing some parts. A friend, who is a professional woodworker, helped me fabricate the missing parts. We did this in secret and, when it was finished, I presented it to my wife as a Christmas present. It now sits in our sunroom.

I was told the correct terminology is walking wheel Yeah, I could tell even in the first shot by the diameter of the wheel. It's somewhere between a drop spindle and a "modern" spinning wheel for ease of operation, but you need a bit of open space to use it. Has your wife spun on it yet?

As I do all year 'round, I grow vegetables. With proper care I can grow greens all winter long, although they grow very slow due to the cold ground temperature, and I often have to buy lettuce in a store. But with the increased daylight and warmer temperatures things have started exploding, as usual. The last few days I gave away a full head of crisp lettuce and a bunch of spinach. Today I ate a salad of arugula and romaine. I've started seedlings for summer crops indoors, to be transplanted later. Various lettuce and spinach. Arugula is bolting in the background. Garlic, planted last fall for June harvest.

Has your wife spun on it yet? Afraid not. Shortly after I got it fixed up, my wife talked to some people at the local historical society about how to use it. But she never went beyond that. It's just a decorative piece of family history.

Nope. She's following reuben's lead and digging a stand alone cold frame, or a root cellar.

Man found in collapsed root cellar. Police are investigating.
It'll be buried (see what I did there?) on page 12 due to the coronavirus. Plus, the police have too many other things to do now, such as enforcing business closures and social distancing, so she'll probably get away with it.

big feet; big shoes; big shoerack (I guess - don't have anything to judge scale.) Big shoes. Size 14. Even my trail runners are over 13 inches long. So I made the shelves 13.5 inches deep. And each pair of shoes takes up a bit under 10 inches in width. So I made the shelves just under 33 inches wide so three pairs would easily fit on each shelf.

hikerchick395 , can I hire you and your husband to dig a new bed for me in my garden? You can have a cut of the eventual yield, and all the flower you want.

We shoveled 143 wheelbarrows full of sand and muck out of our pond You counted? Is that boredom or basic OCD?
