Uh, that's an interesting need. I'm currentyl checking some things with Support, I will ask if there is a trick. EDIT: Not to point out the obvious, but the NEW tag in front of a Board name indicates that something was added since YOUR last look, and to the righ, see a title and author of the recent addition. Tap the title OR the time info and it opens to that last message; maybe other things above it will also be new to you but I think a bit of a scroll up willl reveal anything you'd missed.

The one thing I haven't figured out, if it's possible, is how to get sent to the position in a multipage thread where I'd last read? Are you using mobile or the full board?

Are you using mobile or the full board? Full board. I can click on the "last post" to skip to the end but otherwise when I click on the title I get sent to the start... ETA: Thanks Steve, yes I was aware of that (though on my computer I only get to see the link to the last post a level above the forum (Basecamp: Home): the general discussions list has the last links to the last post in trailhead register etc. but once I open trailhead register the link at the right is solely to the last posters profile page...., it's just this morning when I came to the forum there'd been so much activity that there were a lot of multipage threads that had a lot of additions (from the time stamps for ex. this one had three pages added since I'd last been here): and I'd last seen them somewhere in the middle. Given the "new" tag appears to imply the board has a record of when I was last here opening the thread to that time stamp might be doable. ? Consequence of your success I suppose!

Except that those unused forum areas took upvertical space, only to be ignored. We're not saying put "Ultralight" and "Mountaineering" back in their own top-level forums. Just get rid of them entirely. It's been years since they were used to any significant degree, they went months at a time with no one even posting there. Simply condense the sub-forums under the current "Gear Closet" heading to one single forum ("Gear" or "Gear Closet"), and get rid of the sub-categories entirely. They've been useless for years.

solely to the last posters profile page.. It is crazy hard to keep all this stuff together; I have tried to make it known (elsewhere) that you do not click on the author name or you get their Profile. Easy to do. Click the title or the time info, you get the last post. It's hard to describe what a picture would make clear, but I'm going hammer and tongs as it is, no time just now for screen shots and Photobucket Linking. I hope this gets you closer to what I think you want.

Thanks. Okay got it (clicking on the time below the poster's name to go to the last post), I'd just clicked in the general direction of the name and since on the upper level there's a title above that poster's name...
anyway I think I answered my own original question: with the "NEW: Participated" button in the top right I get a list of threads I've visited and when I click on a thread it appears I get dropped where I'd left off.

I get a list of threads I've visited Again, to be clear: the Participated link is for threads you have (oh I hate to say this...) Participated in, not just visited. Since I preloaded some threads with useless comments to be able to see things working in an empty forum, I get all sorts of Participated alerts, and I am removing my early posts. So tap either the title OR the time, but not the name of the author.

Tomas, are you using mobile? It won't show on mobile!
Nope, I'm at work using IE11.
Ok, I can mark each board as read near the top banner of each board (under select). But I don't see the thing on the home page. Rather odd.

I don't see the thing on the home page At the very last section you should see: Forum Information & Statistics Board Statistics Threads and Posts Total Threads: 58 Total Posts: 554 Last Updated: Offer Comments! by tomas (5 minutes ago) Recent Threads - Recent Posts - RSS Feed - Mark All Boards ReadIt just happens that your post here was the last one recorded. If you can't see that, blame IE 11 and try snother browser., but I think you have just looked in the wrong spot.

It could be either morbid or a fitting rememberance, and it's quite possibly premature (who knows how long this forum will exist?), but how do folks feel about a "Final Basecamp in the Sky" thread for those who have passed? MH, Chuck, ONO, et al. One thread per person. If we go for it someone should come up with a better name for the thread.
I have a little ONO info since someone asked me to save it.

the Participated link is for threads Sloppy wording on my part. Beyond that, if I hadn't participated odds are where I stopped reading doesn't matter.....

When I created my trip report earlier today, the preview option didn't work for me.

Checked the old Forums, it appears people are still signing up over there.
