We saw the McLean tornado from about 6 miles east of there. Wierd, I've lived in Oklahoma and Kansas my whole life and I'd never seen a tornado till this year. Now, I've seen two.

We're looking at a possible 30" of snow in Coal Creek Canyon. I'm not one to anticipate this sort of storm, but I decided to take Thursday and Friday off so as not have to deal with the sucky roads on my summer tires. Looks like I'll be doing a bit of Netflixing.

NOAA is showing the brunt of the storm hitting the Rawahs with 40" + of snow. The amounts of liquid in this to work with is incredible ! If this was a winter storm it would be in the 60-70" range !

Grand Canyon had about an inch of soft wet snow, but it melted as soon as it stopped.

Much ado about nothing in Denver and points east. We just got a light dusting, though the overpasses were a bit slick. I saw several accidents on the way in this morning.

I'm heartened to see that no one claimed this weather confirmed climate change. Also heartened to see that no one claimed this weather refuted climate change. Perhaps sanity is returning.

If this storm had happened during one of the cold winter months, parts of the mountains likely would have gotten another 10 feet of new snow. All of the snow that fell at the Denver level was heavy and extremely wet. More than anything we got rain. But, MsDoolittle got that predicted 30 inches, of wet heavy snow, and photos I have seen of Estes look like they got at least that much. Quite a storm!
