While backpacking in the Great Basin Tuesday I fell and broke my right leg in 3 places. Two brakes on the fibula and one on the tibia. Six weeks on crutches and six months of rehab.

Wishing you a fast recovery. Work hard at the rehab when the time comes. Really push hard.
Now, we need the rest of the story. Where were you in the Basin? How'd you get out? Who went for help?

While going for the Wheeler Peak summit?
Or maybe off trail?
Need trip report. As has been said, rehab hard and steady.

Backpacking along the Pony Express Trail in Western Utah. I tripped and my leg landed on a bowling ball size jagged rock and I had a 50 lb pack on. My friend Suzanne was with me and managed to get me to my SUV and drive the 50 miles to the nearest hospital.

My friend Suzanne was with me and managed to get me to my SUV and drive the 50 miles to the nearest hospital. That' gotta be a story in itself. I can't imagine even hobbling on one leg with an impromptu crutch being helped by friend with a leg broken in three places. Yes, when you're ready give us some details. Probably some lessons there we can all use. No more clogging for you for a while.
