Since the "Members Market" is a wasteland, I'll post up here. Nearly new, use a half dozen times or so. The white reflections in the pics are reflective stickers to find it in the dark. Retail new is $288. Asking $150. PM me.

The Member's Market was originally meant to be a place we could offer non-bp related items, like an author's books, if that author was a member.
That said, we can leave this here for a bit, then move it to Gear if it is still around.

I'll have to wait for her to get tired of carrying it.

I'll have to wait for her to get tired of carrying it. She does centuries. Might be a long wait.

In fact, neither of us wants to carry it. But we have plans to hike in some places where they are required, and it's a lot lighter than the Bear Vault.

And much to my shock, unlike the smaller Scout (heart) the Weekender is officially approved for Yosemite National Park. I was waved off when I asked about the Scout in YNP’s FB page with a referral to the “approved” list. Eek!
Leaving my current choice either my Expedition or my older Garcia. Like that is ever happening again. Oh well “think of the canister as a hard sided stuff sack” they said. Grrrr

Wow, I didn't realize that the Scout wasn't approved. I'd like to hear the whole story on that. My ideal cost-is-no-object setup would be to have one of each size.

Why would the Scout not be approved but the Bareboxer is? The Scout is both taller and wider, and it is made of the same materials and seals up the same as the approved Weekender and Expedition.

The Scout is a separate model? They didn’t respond with anything other than a referral to the approved list. I might take a poke to see if I can find the thread... www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/containers.htmSt least on my iPhone I can’t seem to get a narrow enough focus.

Yeah, they only list Weekender and Expedition, not Scout, Blazer, or (presumably) any of the custom sizes. That seems like an argument I'd be willing to press if necessary, and I'm super cautious about such things.
