Nothing says summer like the need to fill your hat with ice water.

Nothing says summer like... hiking through miles of blueberry bushes.

With the heat index at 99 now, I could easily go for a swim in that lovely aqua to deep copen blue water. Your photo is lovely.

rebeccad, beautiful shot, beautiful blues, especially with the sun creating a sort of path through the water. It's such a lovely, peaceful setting and photo.

Of course, it's not my photo--that's me, so it's my husband's picture (he's a way better photographer than I am). The photo kind of lies, since the beach was actually rather busy. We walked to one end of it, farthest from where you first reach it, and found enough space to strip to our undies and swim without creating a panic :D

I did a double-take when I saw that photo. We were right there on the 1st of September. We missed each other by a couple of weeks then. There is a much lesser know trail that runs into the shoreline trail that a friend and I did. If you were there in the 1st week of September you were there during last "busy" week. Usually the 2nd week of September and on the crowds seem to thin out. Hope you had a great time as it's probably the best trail in Michigan without going to Isle Royale.
