Hello,
I'm taking my two sons hiking in VT and NH this year. They both like to fish so I was hoping to find a trail along or near rivers for fishing.
We bought 3 Warbonnet hammocks last fall, haven't used them yet. We're thinking of doing mostly 2-4 day trips around VT and NH for now, maybe venture into Canada later in the year. If I find a place that has a river to fish, my 14-yr old son might leave me alone for 5 minutes!

So many choices. AT crosses many fishable streams in both states.

If smaller brookies are OK, the AT in southern VT. has lots of opportunities along creeks, some bigger fish in ponds and following the streams to main branches. I use a 1 wt. fly rod. I use a float tube with a 3 wt. in the ponds and do VERY well. I'd also think about an upper Connecticut Lakes canoe trip. You might think about pack rafts. They'll limit the miles, but your kids will have a blast with the on the ponds. They're great to spin fish out of, not so much the fly rod.

The Lincoln Woods Trail in NH, Pemigewasset Wilderness comes to mind. I have no idea what fishing regulations might be though.
